Gross alert- great tip for spots with no head

Hi all

This is pretty gross but I've just discovered it and it seems too good a tip not to pass on.

Since having DC my skin has gone to shit- specifically with very large cyst like spots that have no head so can't be squeezed but that stick around for weeks at a time and are huge and painful.

In a moment of pure desperation the other night, before bed I covered a couple of this little bastards with a savlon Hydrocolloid plaster (like these, see picture). I don't know what made me do it.

However, when I woke and removed the plasters the spots had not only deflated and were no longer painful, but the plaster had drawn out all the pus! There was even a lovely lump of yellow pus on the dressing to prove it!! I then dabbed a bit of tea tree oil on and the spots were cover up with concealerable within hours.

Have since done it twice more with new spots and it's worked perfectly each time. It's made the turnaround from spawn to being able to conceal these spots 1-2 days as apposed to 1-2 weeks.

I hope this helps someone else.

Did you manage to get the plaster off easily? I bought some of those ones accidentally and put one on a small cut on my finger. I decided it wasn't quite on right the next day so wanted to remove it and try again, well it had basically welded itself to my skin! I had a hell of a job removing it. I googled and they're designed to be left on for a few days. Maybe I got a dodgy one.

Ooer! Thanks Clare! I'm still sporting a nasty lump under my chin from last month. Now I've got another one coming on. And for reasons that I can no longer remember, I have these plasters. I'm going to try it.

Felyne..... Yes it came off okay but once they're on they're on I think, you can't reposition.

I hope this works as well for everyone else as it has for me- it's been a proper revelation as previously nothing did anything for the little buggers!!

Mama- what actually is "Hydrocolloid"? I'd love to know.

AngelWings and co: I hope you have the same success as I have.

I just wanted to let you all know that I was looking on ebay and found some collodial dots for this purpose. They were £1.75 for a sheet of 15 in different sizes for tiny spots and bigger spots. The more sheets you buy the cheaper they were.

I got them for my daughter but they have not arrived yet but maybe worth a look?

I'm having terrible pregnancy acne at the moment - I'm off to eBay!!

Sorry, have not been back to this but here is the link:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271871988351?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=570708393109&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I got them quickly, they are a bit smaller than I thought but suppose that is fine. Will give them to my daughter to try although she is bit reluctant and is on hard core acne prescription treatment and tends to think nothing else will work for her but will report back.

I have a monster on my forehead that did come to a head which I squeezed (I know I know). But my chin is a battleground for those big cystic bastards.

One word: Zovirax - boom! One blob overnight and the spot will be on its way out by the morning. Then exfoliate the hell out of it to clear all junk out....

Omg u are my saviour! ! I've had cystic acne like this for over 10 years! Actually in hospital for it next month. Tried everything! Antibiotics don't even affect it. Even bought syringes. Hopefully this will work! Thank you X

Toothpaste overnight if you're stuck without anything else you can use. I learned this from an Aussie au pair in my teens and swear by it (DH thinks I'm mad).
