So cream cleansers...

I have a real problem with this. How can you clean your skin with a cream taking make up off and then not wash your face? Feel that it would leave it grubby. I have started to use alpha h and it says you cant use a foaming cleanser with it because it upsets the ph of the skin. I bought a cream cleanser but after i have used it i splash my face with water. I cant bear just to leave it at that!!!!
Do you just use a cream cleanser and thats your skin clean?

I use a cream cleanser (either Philosophy Purity or Good Things Manuka or -my newest love- Body Shop Camomile Butter Balm) with a hot muslin cloth if I've worn make-up.
If not, micelar type (Soap&Glory drama Clean)
So not 'washing' but it does involve water.

I use a wash off in the morning shower.

I've never liked the cream cleanser and cotton wool thing.

I always use a foaming cleanser afterwards. I know that it's (apparently) sacrilege but my skin doesn't feel clean after removing the cleanser with a warm flannel. I'm thinking of trying Cetaphil, which supposedly cleans without foaming.

I am very gullible when it comes to skincare, though. My skin is just fine as it is!

Many Asian beauty bloggers usually recommend double cleansing but some use low pH cleansers so that BHA/AHA products work optimally afterwards. This means that can use a foaming cleanser after a balm or oil if you pick low pH ones. Reddit Asian Beauty has a long list of pH tested cleansers. Generally, soap and many foaming face washes are alkaline (=high pH, typically 9-11). I'm still happily using them and feel that glycolic and salicylic acids work well enough but if you want to be extra sure, do some googling and pick low pH cleansers (your skin has a pH of circa 5.5).

I take my cleanser off with a warm cloth, then splash my face with water.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Good im not alone. Think i will do the cleanser and warm cloth thing for now. Means i can use up what i have. I will then look at maybe some of the other non foaming cleansers.

I use Elemis Rehydrating Rose cream cleanser, I massage it into dry skin and use a hot wet flannel to wipe it off. It says to wipe off with cotton wool but that would not get my makeup off or my skin clean! But yes high st foaming cleansers are generally speaking bad for skin, far too harsh. It's lovely to massage in a cream or oil, but then definitely a hot flannel to remove it. I have Cetaphil once my Elemis is finished - I like the Elemis but don't think it's worth £22 impulse buy

I use liz earle +double cleanse using hot water+Muslim cloth+then dermaflannel I do like cream cleansers

At night, I use La Roche Posay cleansing cream, wipe off with cotton wool, then wipe over again with Bioderma micellar water before using face oil. I only use face wash in the shower.
