Radio 1 Big Weekend - what to wear?

It's outdoors all day, being the UK they will be a high chance of rain so definitely taking one of those emergency ponchos with me.

What else do I wear? And what's best to wear on my feet? Never been to anything festival-y before and not got a clue!

Jeans t shirt trainers and a cardigan or hoodie or if you are DD2 some sort of Taylor Swift homage involving ridiculous shorts.

I'm off to an outdoor concert in the next few weeks and pondering the very same question. I feel old, just had a baby and know I'm going to be surrounded by effortlessly trendy young girls!

I'm thinking either sandals or wellies considering I'll ultimately be standing in a field all day.

Just go for comfort. If you are standing outside in the British weather then layers and something waterproof are the best choices. I get grumpy if I'm cold and it spoils the experience.

Are you going to the one in Norwich? If so it's gorgeous weather today, jeans and short sleeved top buy yrs bring a rain jacket though it's meant to not rain. Have fun, I didn't get tickets :(

Wellies or doc marten's, doesn't matter if it's dry by the Sunday the grass will be very soggy and full of unmentionable things Shock

Don't under any circumstances wear sandals even if it's sunny (seasoned festival goer here)

Enjoy the foo's, they're one of my faves Envy

Waterproof boots, thick socks, bare legs and a nice dress and a mac. Small crossbody bag. Hair worn down, makeup inc SPF and big sunglasses.

Just pop into my house to warm up and dry off if it rains Grin

I didn't get tickets :( I should hear it from mine at least.

The weather is very up and down here at the moment.

Wonders where U2 is and plans to decamp to her garden so I can at least hear it...

FOOD FOOD FOOD: DS unexpectedly has a ticket.
How much do I give him for buying food on the site, lunch & evening meal? Is £25 enough or ridiculously too much?

Umm it should be fine depending how much he eats, the cafe is allowed to be open and they are usually reasonably priced but am guessing they will put prices up. There will be all the usual food vans etc.

Take water etc with so you don't pay crazy prices.

Can they take water in? I just read that 'No drink is allowed to be brought in' type statements.

I'm reading elsewhere that £5-£7/meal is about expected at a music festival.

You're allowed one 500 ml bottle of water, sealed. I'm wearing jeans, converse, hoody, with rain mac and sun cream in my bag! Have also bought a straw hat but worried it might look like I've bought a special festival hat. Which I have.

ooh... that's helpful, although we don't have any sealed bottles but hopefully DS can pretend.

Went to Longwater Sainsbos earlier and the drinks fridge near the entrance had no 500ml water - think they're missing a trick there considering loads will be parking at Costessey P&R!

Feel free 5madthings.

My family seem to be having the same idea Grin
