Rose Perfume?

ManAliveThisThingsFantastic · 19/05/2015 18:49

It is my mums birthday next week and she has asked for a Rose perfume. Not too overpowering (such as Jo Malone Red Roses) but one that is noticeably rose.

Anyone have any suggestions please?

Stella McCartney's perfume in the purple bottle has delicate rose tones

Pacifica do one called Persian Rose, which is lovely, almost Turkish Delight scented and lasts all day - there are various creams etc in the same range too. Lush also do a rose one, can't remember what it's called though!

Yves Rocher Rose Fraiche is lovely - like an early morning rose, not too sweet. And often on special offer.

I wanted a rose perfume and tried a lot recently - in the end my favourite was Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile - it is really lovely.

If you want something unusual but not extortionate, look at Angela Flanders website. You would have to send off for a sample (unless you can get to Columbia Road this Sunday) but her scents are very high quality and beautiful.

Bulgari Rose Essentielle is lovely - definitely rose but not too strong

I was going to suggest Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose as a cheaper alternative. It is very rosy without being sickly and there are lots of co-ordinating toiletries. The matching body lotion is nice.

The Juliette Has A Gun perfumes all have a rose base - they do a sample set of them all which costs about £10, redeemable against the cost of a full bottle of the one you like best. Miss Charming and Mad Madame are both particularly lovely in my opinion, and testing the samples is good fun.

Acqua di parma have a rose perfume can't remember the name but tried it over the weekend and loved it. I had l'occitane roses et reines and found it too overpowering with the rose - the acqua di parma was more subtle
