Does anyone like the way she dresses, or is she generally classed as quite boring on here?

BitOutOfPractice Sun 10-May-15 08:28:43

I wish she'd but some more shoes. If I see those plain nude courts one more time I'll scream!

I quite like the way she dresses, a bit boring perhaps but still very classic. I don't think she has many options open to her style-wise.

Bursarymum Sun 10-May-15 08:32:15

The thing I always notice about her is her very lovely hair.

CambridgeBlue Sun 10-May-15 08:35:51

I think she always looks nice, is beautifully turned out and dresses in a ways that's appropriate for her lifestyle but I don't think her style is very imaginative and it wouldn't suit my shape, budget or lifestyle at all.

Twinklestar2 Sun 10-May-15 08:37:00

I like the classic look too. I've always liked and worn it but I'm veering more towards going completely classic as I get older.

WipsGlitter Sun 10-May-15 08:38:03

I think it's maybe a wee bit matronly sometimes. Her leaving hospital dress was lovely but very mumsy. I agree about the nude shoes.

It's unimaginative but works for her.
She's thin and pretty so a lot works for her.

Cambridgeblue - I think my style uses to be imaginative when I was younger but in recent years has changed to match my lifestyle and job. When I look at what I wear 90% of the time it's either skinny jeans, top, blazer and boots or dress, jacket and heels/shoe boots. I get told I look nice but now I'm wondering if I look unimaginative!!

Twinklestar2 Sun 10-May-15 08:41:58

Wipsglitter - I said the same! I could see the Queen wearing that dress!

I then read that sales of yellow dresse have soared since that appearance which is annoying as I love yellow and wear a lot of it!!

CambridgeBlue Sun 10-May-15 08:48:55

It's true actually, I think a lot of us have a sort of 'uniform' so I guess nobody's actually that imaginative. I live in jeans t-shirt and Converse by day and jeans, boots and biker jacket by night so I'm hardly setting the fashion world on fire!

I do think that the floral dresses etc KM wears work on her because she is tall and slim, on me they would look incredibly frumpy smile.

I think she always dresses appropriately and always looks nice. Yes, her style is very conservative for her age but it reflects her role.i imagine she would love to move away from her formal, traditional style but is restricted by her Royal aides. Her hair always looks nice and so it should with top hairdressers at her beckon call. I love the way the Queen dresses, very glamorous.

dexter73 Sun 10-May-15 08:57:41

I think she looks good. I'm a fairly boring dresser too.

Dancergirl Sun 10-May-15 08:58:59

I think she looks lovely. Beautifully cut stylish clothes.

Thought she was VERY brave to wear a pale coloured dress after giving birth. Wonder if she put in navy pyjamas as soon as she got home...?

Sansarya Sun 10-May-15 09:00:11

She always looks well turned out but her style is definitely more conservative than it was in her first couple of years as a Royal, which is a shame. And the Sledge pumps need to be retired!

Are they really extensions??

I don't think they're extensions!

burnishedsilver Sun 10-May-15 09:43:18

I like the way she dresses. Admittedly it's a bit mature for her but it's appropriate for her role. She always looks well.

pinkfrocks Sun 10-May-15 09:44:31

she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.
In her position a certain amount of decorum is required. People expect a certain amount of 'naice', safe, middle class dressing. I don't know what else she could wear on state occasions that would be more 'edgy'. Compared to other royals- Eugenie, etc, Zara, Sophie,- I think she does okay. Off duty she seems to wear what many of us do- skinny jeans, stripy bretons, jumpers etc. But anyway, I don't think it's nice to judge anyone solely on what they wear. It's what they are like as a person that counts.

Gobbolinothewitchscat Sun 10-May-15 09:47:20

I think she looks fine and agree that she is probably slightly limited with choices

to be fair, I don't think she wants the whole clothes horse thing that the Princess of Wales had so is judicious in her choices and recycling. Plus, I think that in these straightened times, the whole Diana thing would be seen as terribly profligate

I agree that some of the choices are mumsy - the dress leaving the hospital liked like something the queen woukd wear

pinkfrocks Sun 10-May-15 09:51:11

well anyone who has given birth about 6 hrs previously would wear something 'like the queen would wear'- surely? By that I mean loose fitting and without a waist. I do think the high heeled nude courts were out of place and think everyone would have 'understood' if she'd gone for some sensible, flat footwear.

Koalafications Sun 10-May-15 09:52:57

I like her style. It's very inoffensive and neutral. I dress in a similar style.

Gobbolinothewitchscat Sun 10-May-15 10:30:15

I don't remember feeling the need to wear something with a yellow flower pattern six hours post giving birth. The pattern is not very modern
