Fecking Rosacea! Please please recommend products

This seems to have slowly crept up on me. I didn't even realise I had it until a couple of weeks ago. I'm devastated. My skin used to be really nice but these days have a red rash to both cheeks that I can't get rid of.
I started a new skincare regime a little while ago but I don't think the products I invested loads of money I don't actually have in don't necessarily suit my skin. I bought some Nip&Fab exfoliating pads as a toner to try double cleansing but they really irritate my skin. The rest is not too bad but could be better!
Please please recommend me some products - preferably not too pricey as I have already broken the bank with the stuff I have now!

Cleanse with Cetaphil, moisturise with Dermalex. If you are going to be outside, then Sunsense everyday 50+ instead of Dermalex. Or the La Roche Posay rosaliac range is good too, and on 3 for 2 at Boots atm

Since I've been using these my skin is so much better

See your gp for a course of tetracycline antibiotics. It's a three month course but I've not had any rosacea since taking them - five years ago now. Changing skincare never made any difference to me, and avoiding triggers was a total pain (no hot drinks/spicy food /alcohol etc).

Can anyone recommend a foundation? My rosacea is ok at the mo, but my red cheeks seem to show through everything.
I don't really want to go down the antibiotics route, but would if it really works...

I'm sorry to say that with rosacea, it is generally a case of trial and error! Antibiotics do help some, but did absolutely nothing for mine.

I use Dermalex for rosacea in the morning and Ciclaplast (La Roche Posay) at night. Bare Minerals make up is the best for covering redness and doesn't irritate. No exfoliators or harsh cleansers.

GP can prescribe a gel which helps some folk with the red pimples (though not the overall redness). My GP wasn't very helpful, just advised avoiding alcohol, caffeine and spicy food. All the things I enjoy!

I'm currently on tetracylcine antibiotics and they have worked for my spots but not the redness etc. The only thing that has helped my redness/itchiness is to completely give up caffeine.
Where can you buy Dermalex moisturiser? Can anyone recommend a product for taking off make up?

I'd recommend messing with it as little as possible. I use the Aderma cleansing bar a couple of times a week (it has oats in it, very soothing for sensitive skin) and put on a bit of argan oil at night. Otherwise I leave it alone.

You can buy Dermalex in Boots (in store its in the skin problems pharmacy area), I usually buy from Boots online and get it delivered to my tiny local store as they don't stock it.

Cetaphil shifts makeup really well, so I don't use anything else

Wash you face with hibiscrub. My rosacea cleared in less than 2 weeks (after almost 5 years if redness). I did also get new pillows and duvet cover around the same time as I had read about dust mite allergies causing it too. The combination of that and the hipiscrub worked for me.

Another vote for Dermalex cream.

Bellapierre mineral makeup. Only 3 ingredients.
Or Lily Lolo.
If your skin is oily then Lily Lolo mineral make up (with their concealer) if your skin is drier then Bellapierre which doesn't need separate concealer.

The only sunscreen I can use is Green People. Everything else leaves big lumps/cysts on my face and neck for weeks afterwards.

And avoid dimethecone and other silicones in products. Really aggravates mine. Makes my face redder almost instantly.

I'm very interested in the Hibiscrub. Not tried this yet. So off to Boots for some.

Also you can get GP to give you Finacea cream or Rosex cream. This works for some people.
I'm allergic to Lymecycline but had good success with erythromycin antibiotics. I took three separate courses (3/6 months) over several years. Sadly any effect has worn off and it no longer has any effect.

Lymecycline had an effect but I had a rare allergic reaction to it. Also be sure to mention to your GP if you suffer migraines. The bad reaction to Lymecycline mimics a migraine but if you were to take medication for migraine with it, like Triptans, you could have a stroke. I did but luckily vomited the medication so was very lucky. Anyway nothing to do with rosacea as such.

I have not found diet changes to be effective in any way at all. Even vegan or ultra low carb. Sadly. I don't really drink so that's not been an issue and even if I have a drink, I don't flush or go red (well redder).
I quit caffeine for 6 months with no effect either.

I would still give antibiotics or one of the creams from the GP a go. It can help for a long time.

I'd recommend taking a zinc supplement. I found that really helped my rosacea. Also using Sudocrem or similar on really bad areas.
