Any recommendations for a good suncream for toddlers/kids? I used la roche posay kids on ds last year but it was quite oily on him..any more matte ones which won't dry out ds skin?

I like the banana boat sprays. Asda usually stock them. It's an aerosol so a fine mist that you don't have to rub in and they do children's, waterproof, sports versions etc

Hi,
The best one I have found for my 3 year old is banana boat powder dri, it doesn't irritate his sensitive skin (all others have given him a rash and made his eyes stream) and it soaks straight in leaving no residue at all.

I use Sun Sense on my 4 children. Started using it when my son had eczema when it was prescribed by his dermatologist (though it's not a medical cream). It is the best, goes on so well without dragging on the skin. I use it on all the kids now! And it doesn't go off from year to year. Can't recommend it enough, though it is a bit pricey! It's the number one brand in Australia I believe. You can buy it on amazon or at john Lewis.

I only use ultrasun once a day factor 50 on ds. Even had it sent over when we lived in Australia. You can get it on qvc

Ultrasun SPF50. So far it's the only one that hasn't bought DN out in a rash.

Nivea aerosol spray is good for holidays when they can't wait to get into the pool but I use banana boat here. Its SPF 50 powder DRI and half price in superdrug online currently (never seen it anywhere else).

Ultrasun all the way here too. Can get it on amazon (it's the only truly 'all day', in that it has to be washed off, it won't come off with sweat/swimming. Most other all day creams stop being effective after 8 hours, so you wouldn't be covered for afternoons). I put it on my children before school every day from this time of year, so u don't have to worry. Good for sensitive skin too.

I should add I use the banana boat aerosol because I'm around horses so don't want to be rubbing anything on when I'm covered in muck and hay! Plus I'm mega pale and I have never burnt with it

Wilko's own is very good - rubs in well and has 5 star UVA rating.

Thanks all the banana boat and ultrasun once a day sounds good..also the blue Nivea one sounds like it could be useful I tend to be a bit slapdash about applying sunscreen a few days into the holidays :/

Wouldn't it be great if you could get a once a day that went on dry and blue so you could tell where you applied it, and it came in aerosol and lotion formulations.. Oh and also has anti-mozzie powers too Grin

The banana boat powder dri one isn't a spray it's a lotion and goes on like a cream but just disappears into the skin and things like sand and hair etc can't stick to it making it great for kids. It's half price in boots at mo too.
