It's my brothers (surprise) 30th this weekend. I will be 37 and a bit weeks pregnant. I am currently planning on wearing a black maxi dress, but have no idea what to wear with it. Its an afternoon thing at someone's house, but a pretty big event- family friendly (I'll also have my 3yo with me) so not mega formal, but I would like to make an effort, particularly as there will be a few family members I haven't seen in a while there!
So... What do I wear over my maxi dress?? And what sort of shoes do I need to pair with it? Drawing a blank on shoes but do have a lovely coral pink light cotton shirt as an over-dress contender. Won't hopefully have to chase the 3yo around too much as there are other kids, my husband and family about so should be ok. But no really high heels.
Thank you- I have just run out of energy to think for myself! Hah!

I had a similar thing whilst heavily pregnant and although the baby inconveniently arrived early and I couldn't go I intended to wear a yellow cropped cardi and yellow chunky (and v comfy) wedges to spruce up my black dress. And I got a yellow & peacock feather type clip thing dirt cheap off eBay to go in my hair. I was most pissed off that I couldn't go!

My worn-to-death yellow cardi is this Oasis one here but I think I saw some in H&M recently too.

Thank you!! I do like a bit of yellow :) wedges are an excellent idea (don't currently have any, but that can be rectified).
Yeah- my daughter showed up at 37 weeks on the dot, so my family keep checking up on me... Hopefully I have a couple of weeks to go...

My yellow wedges are Boden's 70's style ones. Sooo comfy. Got them 2 years ago though so that might not help you! Good luck and hope the baby doesn't interfere with your party plans Smile
