This season's summer trouser

Well I think it is this season (I am hardly a fashionista) - quite baggy at top, tapering to ankle skimming length, in patterned fabric.

Do they make your arse look enormous?

I am a size 12/14 and 5 foot 4. Can't really get to the shops to try on. Is there any point ordering online?

I am size 12 and 5ft 5. I've tried loads of these trousers on as I like them but they look terrible. Make me look huge. Not flattering at all (though I am large of bun and thigh)

I think I might wear them on a flight Grin, then change immediately at my destination.

Ok, sounds like a no-hoper then!

Shame because I think they look really nice in the pics … and comfy!

Ah no, I was online shopping. I suspect they'd make my arse look enormous like it pretty much is.

They look lovely on some people. They look terrible on me and I'm a pear shape. I much prefer palazzo pants.

yes! they look so comfy and the fabric so soft and silky, but look in a mirror and........ (5'6" - size 12) - wear only where you would wear pjs...

I'm 5'9" and a size 10 I have tried this style and I look awful, I'll be sticking to chinos and skinnies if I can't find an alternative I don't like flares and not keen on harems so pretty limited for choice.

I am not a fashionista either.. At all

But I bought Capri type trousers the other day and they are the business. Very slimming.

I bought them in an independent shop near me but they are made by Vila / only and are called Capri running pants.

They don't look like running pants really, perfect fit super comfy and easy to style up with fitted top or whatever. Love them.

Vila area on asos but I cannot see them on it. Would love them in navy. Bought two in black.

What are these trousers called anyway?

Aren't they the same as last years? Joggers maybe? The same trousers seem to have different names everywhere :/

I like them and I'm pear shaped! I have a quite 'out there' pair, olive green oversized leopard print from H and M and they're maternity too Grin

Just wear them with simple other bits - black vest and black sandals. As long as they're not too small and give you camel toe.

I don't like the viscose Aztec print ones you get in likes of Peacocks though, they look cheap. Leopard print or blotchy better. Next have them in dark muted colours, easy to wear.

I think big bums look good in them actually, a bit of wobble is quite sexy - as long as they're dark and styled well with simple top half.

If you're talking about harem pants I have two pairs of these. One patterned and one plain black. I'm a pear shaped size 12 and I don't think they make me look any bigger in the bum than normal. As long as I team them with a fitted top as top to toe bagginess does give them more of a PJ look. They are great for long haul flights!

Aren't they harem pants as seen everywhere last year? I found the Next ones OK for round the house and supermarket. Have got the Boden version this year. Called Alexa I think, Find it a bit of a pain finding perfect top to go with them.

Report
Merguez · 20/04/2015 19:50

Not as voluminous as Harem pants. these ones have a tapered leg.

I bought some in the Boden sale, they are last years and called boho trousers, I will wear them on holiday with a plain top, the ones in the shops this year look very similar and I will treat them like shorts, something to get out each summer for holidays.
