Please help - my head is a fuzzy blur of dresses

I have a black tie ball in a couple of weeks and need an outfit, I must have looked through 1000s of dresses and can't find 'the one'.. The event lends itself to either something very formal or on the formal side of cocktail style. I have trawled through all of the normal websites (JL, HOF, ASOS etc.) to no avail - love the advice and suggestions given on here so thought it was time to ask!

I am 27, dark blonde hair, 5ft 5in, a size 10-12 on top with very small boobs and a size 14 on the bottom. I have a tiny waist, huge hips, treetrunk thighs, a reasonably flat stomach and slightly wobbly arms which I normally prefer to cover.

Blacks, greys and beiges are my colours - I love structure and texture, no frills, flowers or fuss. I would say my ideal style (the one I spend my life trying to achieve but failing ) is classy, modern and sophisticated. The dress needs to be at least below the knee and I'd like to spend £100, but would go up slightly if it was perfect.

Thank you so much in advance, I'm excited to see any suggestions!

What about this topshop effort? With some amazing shoes and earrings would like really dressy I think (ignore models socks and sandals combo)

Thanks MrsRon you've nailed my style with that one however I have very similar dresses I wear for work and think this ball is the perfect excuse to be a little more glam than I usually would.

Clicks add to basket anyway Grin

Have you tried virgos lounge? This one jumps out but they have loads that may suit? They're very 1920s which I love but might not be for everyone

Ah no worries with that topshop one, I think we might have similar style because id snap that up if it was charcoal or black!
Virgos lounge very pretty though, worth a look around

If you like neutrals how about this? Might be a bit 'wedding' but it sounds as though it would suit your shape

I saw this the other day and just fell in love with it - it is so beautiful! I wish my daughters prom was this year and not next, I'd MAKE her wear it Wink

Also - I would say black tie is a long dress - cocktail is a shorter dress x

All beautiful dresses but none quite right - I'm so fussy Blush

The LKB is possibly too sophisticated even for me, Ted Baker too short (but wow) and by the time I got the Mango one to fit my hips the top would be gaping - would make a lovely prom dress.

It's black tie but it's got a really fun theme to the event so could get away with something not quite floor length, although happy to do either. Midi quite suits me as the bottom halves of my legs aren't bad and I can do fierce heels!

The ted baker models are Very Tall so the dress would be a lot more knee length on an average person!

Thanks jimmy that is in fact on my short list! Gorgeous isn't it. Worried about feeling a little bare on the arms though, any 2 week cures for bingo wings?!

Black tie is not a long dress but can be. White tie is long.
