London pedicure suggestion

can anyone recommend a good place for a pedicure in central London which meets the following:

1. the pedicure is carried out privately or semi privately (ie. not on the salon floor right next to someone having a manicure). Doesn't have to be in a separate room but just a bit screened and away from the main salon traffic.

1. you sit on a raised chair so that the therapist is herself working at a comfortable height/ isn't scrabbling around on a bowl on the floor.

The two places I knew that did this have closed. Seems to me that the options are:
* be in a chair in the middle of a salon with everyone bustling around or
* go to a hotel type spa where you are seen in a private room and have to lie on a massage bed with the back up.

Any suggestions please?

Private room. Chair bit like massage bed but wasn't. Free pot of tea. Not cheap but lovely experience, more like chiropody - got right into the corners, gave advice etc. Slightly hard sell on the foot care products and polish extra £15

Cheeky in holborn (next to/ part of holborn hoxton hotel) did a fab pedi for me last week, had works and staff were lovely
It's not private but the pedi chairs are separate to mani stations
It was a full works one for £26 blissfull

Can I ask you experienced pedicure receivers whether it is acceptable to have a pedicure whilst being treated for a fungal nail infection? Or is that an absolute no? I have an infection in my two smallest toenails on each foot. It is not shifting, unfortunately.

No idea Hiawatha. Fortunately never been in that position. I think I would choose somewhere reputable, call them or pop in and ask to speak to one of the pedicurists (not the receptionist) and see what they say.

I think you would need to tell them and there is no point just turning up because they may refuse to do it.

If they have proper hygiene standards, I would guess that it shouldn't be an issue but as I said, I don't actually know.

I second Dabbs, who also has a salon in Marylebone. Expensive but worth it, my toenails were still polished and 'shiny' two to three weeks after having the treatment.

I went to the Margaret Dabbs place in Marylebone and was a bit underwhelmed. Nicely cut and buffed nails and most of the hard skin was removed. The effects lasted about a week, so quite overpriced I thought.

Maybe I was just unlucky (or my feet are beyond help!), because most people rave about it. Might be worth a try.
