You look tired...

...is what I've heard at least once a day this week. I am tired but I'm suddenly looking it and old too. So what to do?

I'm 40. I don't wear makeup, my hair could do with a cut and I feel flat, fat and frumpy.

Anyone want a project/got any advice?

Do you exercise at all? I have. 2 DDs - one 22 months and just finished breastfeeding her. I can look tired but I do find getting active (as in sweaty and a bit red faced) helps. Are you taking a vitamin supplement?
Other things - drinking lots of water/wearing a good concealer and BB cream with added Skincare (Olay 7 signs thingy with Max Factor foundation), having a good haircut, nice underwear, investing in some basics that flatter you.

You've answered your own question. You don't wear make and your hair needs a bit of a cut. You can fix that by lunch time tomorrow.

Thank you both. Don't exercise much. I do walk a lot every day in my job though.

I've just let myself get in a rut and not given myself much time.

Life in your eyes makes for life in your face - what inspires you, makes you happy, makes you bounce? Can you reconnect with that?

what about an eye lash tint? It gives your eyes a boost without the hassle of applying make up each day

Somuch I'm actually doing a job I love but just recently I've not done much else I enjoy, between work and the DCs I've been just collapsing in a big heap by the evening. You're right that I need to do more enjoyable things too.

I get this a lot because I am gry and anaemic.
Dior glow maximiser under eyes and cheekbone then benefit on cheeks.
Job done.

Get your haircut, put some make-up on and have your colours done. The difference wearing the right colour clothes for your complexion can make is immense.

Getting enough sleep and exercise will help but will take longer to achieve.

Plummy it's black and Erm a bit of grey to break up the black...thank you. I'll look into it.

Kennington thank you.

It seems obvious really. I really am tired! Make up and polished hair. Thank you though all.

Yes decent hair cut and colour with subtle make up will make a big difference. I bought a Nutribullet (poor man's Vitamix) a couple of weeks ago and having green vegetable/fruit juice has made my skin glow.

Exfoliate your face, use brightening eye drops and blusher. Easy as and really makes a difference (I get the 'are you tired?' ALL the time!

A tiny hint of fake tan on the face can work wonders.

I have downloaded an app on my phone which basically reminds me to drink water. Sad, but it appears to be working. Dark under eye seem brighter.

I've booked a hair cut. Booked an eyebrow shape and lash dye. Dug out my water bottle. I shall have a make up sort out this weekend.

Thank you all. It's much appreciated.

What's the app plentyofshoes ?
I've been asked this three times this week - and wasn't wearing make up on any of those days so clearly there's a lesson there for me Hmm

Fake tan.

I use a small blob on my face every day, as well as moisturizer.

Since doing that people have said how lively I look. (I'm still knackered underneath though)

It was a free one called aqualert. You put in your weight and activity level and it calculates the amount you need. Pretty basic, but it has made me realise I have not been drinking enough at all.
My skin does look a lot better.

Another vote for subtle self tanner on face.

I've just bought cleanser, exfoliating face wash, eye make up remover, mascara.
I've dug out my unopened good intentions once upon a time BB cream.
I've downloaded the water app.

I'll glow!!

I always find curling my eyelashes makes me look more awake - even with no or minimal eye make up!
