Need an interview outfit for Friday. Help!

I work in the NHS and was told on Friday I have got an interview next Friday. First in 8 years and since DC 1 and 2 were born. NHS office wear isn't generally super smart and my work wardrobe isn't as sharp as it was 8 years ago (and the extra weight I'm trying to shift).

Just spent a few miserable hours round town. Lots of coloured, patterned or slim trousers. A few plain black office type trousers but nothing special. In desperation I bought this uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_13.17/7461266112?skipRedirection=true. It fits beautifully is really comfortable. I am getting cold feet though.

I can pop back in tomorrow as it's my day off but I need to prepare a presentation, plus DC has appointment at 11.00 and I have a stinking cold.

I'm a pear shape and pushing size 18 in trousers at the moment (sob), 16 in dresses and skirts.

Gorgeous dress. What's the job for? I've worked in the NHS (office-based) and that would be fine (although if I'm being brutally honest the lace sleeves make it a tad on the dressy side for me), but if you're comfortable in it I think that's the main thing - nothing worse than worrying about being cut in half/skirt riding up/neckline doing weird things!

Good luck :)

Thanks lovecat. It' a finance job so even though not everyone wears suits I think I should for the interview. Stuff in the shops at the moment is horrible and unflattering at the moment.

That's a lovely dress. I guess you could office it up a bit with a jacket/blazer over the top.

Have you had at look at Dorothy Perkins? They seem to have lots of smart jersey dresses in the sale section.

I can't find it to link but I've just bought a navy v neck jersey dress reduced to £17, it looks really smart with a blazer and court shoes. Wearing for interview on Thursday actually!

They gave me a free delivery code on the site too and it was here in 24 hours.

Good luck!

This would be fab. They've vamped it up for the 50s styling, but ignore that.

I bought the grey dress tethers linked to for an interview- I think the monsoon dress is lovely but a bit dressy for an office/finance interview....
