In search of an underwired nursing bra, but have no shops near me for fitting (except M&S).

Under bust 33 and over bust 44/45 not sure how tight to take this? However only fed DD an hour ago, so I'm not at my 'fullest'.

Which size should I go for? And any online shop recommendations?

This is the link you need: thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html with the instructions as to how to take the overbust measurement.

Thanks Showtunes.

If I use the bigger bust measurement, I think i'm a 32HH Shock

Not sure I'm going to find one in that size easily.

Nursing bras tend to have a bit more give so you might want to give a 34G a go too. They are definitely easier to get a hold of.

This website is fab: //www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/
they are really good about returns & exchanges too.

I wore the Anita underwired bra - the best bar none in my opinion.
I was a 32hh, but wore the J, because the cups were a bit on the tight side.
A slight warning though: Because underwired can cause issues with milk ducts, you must be really careful it's not too tight anywhere - mastitis is much worse than having to wear a soft cup bra! I didn't break into underwired until about 4-5 months.

Sorry, but I have to disagree Showtunes - even with extra give, a G cup would be two sizes too small, so there's a high likelihood it could cause pressure that can lead to blocked ducts.
I've tried G's so many times over the years, to try to get affordable or varied bras, swimsuits etc, and it always leads to quad boob, even in swimsuit material!

The Anita runs small because it skips cup size IIRC - they don't do double sizes

It's also very easy to convert normal bras - you can buy clips on ebay. Once you have a better idea if that is the right size, Ewa Michalak do a fab nursing bra too

Thanks Rock have ordered a few Anita's in different sizes.

Statistically, do you know of any UK sellers for the Ewa? Struggling to find any.

Thanks everyone. Will be so nice to have actually bra that fits, with no shelf boob and over spillage. Fingers crossed the Anita's fit well.

You have to buy Eva online, using their website - which is why it pays to be sure of your size first! (They ship from Poland...)

RockCrushesLizard, I'm not talking about underwired but soft cup ones which have more give. I'm a 32FF/G and am wearing a 34F nursing bra at the moment and it's fine. It will vary from bra to bra, brand to brand.

But yes, if you're looking for underwired ones then you will need a G! I missed that in the OP!

I was that size when BFing and I would really recommend converting your own bras. Non-wired bras won't give you enough support, and if you go for normal bras, you will also have loads more to choose from, including bargains. Just on ebay, you can find over 600 32HH bras at the moment.

Amazing service from NursingBra-Shop. Thanks for the recommendation Rocks. They arrived this morning.

The Anita's are really comfortable. Sadly none of the 7 I ordered are quite right, so going to return and try for a 34J. Have tried a 32J and the bands too tight. Also ordered a 34i but think the cups are too small. The rest were G and H, those were no where near fitting.

Glad to hear it! They're pretty quick with exchanges too.

Life's too short for hideous bras Smile

Freya do a flexi wired nursing bra now, which goes up to a HH in the smaller band sizes. Not tried it but have had good feedback.
