Advice on split ends hair care???

I recently went to a salon recommended by a family member and had blonde foils put into my hair - I used to be blonde but recently went brown to try and 'save' my hair from the damage of the bleach.

After styling my hair I quickly realised the ends of my hair were seriously damaged. I went to a different salon to have my hair trimmed (yet again) and they informed me the salon had used cheap bleach on my hair, they removed most of the damage but have recommended I use hair treatments on my hair over the next couple of months to get it back to it's healthy, usual self - anyone got any recommendations? (not really fussy about price as long a it works!) Thank you in advice guys!!

Philip Kingsley Elasticiser is a leave overnight treatment, but is quite expensive.

Coconut oil left in overnight once or twice a week is also very good.

You can't repair split ends. Once the hair shaft has split, it can't be fixed, products that say they can just contain silicones that glue the broken bits together temporarility and give the impression of improved condition (but don't actually 'cure' the problem). The only fix for split ends is having the split parts cut off back to normal hair shaft.

Using a good quality protein shampoo and conditioner a couple of times a week, alternating with moisturising shampoos & conditions will help. Protein shampoos and conditions help replace the keratin in the hair shaft and repair some of the structural damage done by bleaching. Most shampoo/conditioners labelled "damage repair" will be protein based, I like Redken's Extreme range (about £9 each for the s'poo & cond but they last ages because you don't use them every wash and they are v concentrated so you only use a bit each time).

Also, lay off heat styling and tying it up as that will damage and stress the already fragile strands and cause further breakage.

Squeezy I know they're never going to be repairable sobs into hair but my new hairdresser said he'd cut off most of the damage and what was left is "salvageable through serious care and regular treatment"

I've quit straightening my hair completely and when I do start again I'm going to invest in a seriously good pair to minimize damage. But 100% going to try that! I recognise it from the salon... Thank you ever so much!
