Laser hair removal- £200-£2000!?

Hi ladies,

I am currently saving and searching for the best place to get laser hair removal done for my lower and upper legs. I have heard IPL isn't as good?
But I am seeing prices from £350 per session and 8 sessions are recommended! I was under the impression it would be about £1000 but now it's looking more like over £2500. I haven't even booked for a phone consultation with The Harley medical group (their prices aren't on their website) as I can imagine they are even more expensive- does anyone know?

Has anyone had laser in the last couple of years on their legs and remember he cost? Looks like I will be hairy forever at this cost!

Have you tried groupon? There are frequent offers.

Or try somewhere not in central London. My laser clinic is based in my gp surgery. I realise this doesn't necessarily make them any good, but I'm quite happy with the false sense of security!!! Anyway, they charge £1200 for 8 sessions of ipl and £2000 for some other laser.

Thanks chanie, Yes I've looked on groupon and it's always for IPL. When I rang around a lot of salons/skin clinics they said the alexandrite laser (which isn't IPL),is the best, I don't know anyone that has had IPL to let me know if it's good. It is considerably cheaper though.

Millie if you check on Harley Medical Groups website on the left hand side there is a option that says 'Packages' that gives you the price list.

Full leg is £2202.

I bought the Philips Lumea a couple of years ago. It's s home IPL machine and I am hairless on my legs, arms and underarms now. I assume salon IPL is stronger. Don't see why you must have laser?

No I'm not sure really, IPL is supposed to hurt less too, so if it's less painful and cheaper why does laser even exist?? When they have something good already. Confusing.
Ok I'm going to start looking at IPL prices and locations again if you ladies have had some success.

I think the info out there is confusing so I guess you'll just have to take a leap of faith.

I've been having ipl for a few years now - I had two pregnancies in between. I have it every 3 months and have noticed a decrease in hair growth, although it's only a small one. I have black skin and PCOS, so I'm a lost cause.
