Tigerbear's FREE clothes and cosmetics thread

I've done this once before with cosmetics only, but interested to see if it'll work for clothes too.

I've just had a massive clear out of clothes, cosmetics, beauty stuff etc and am wondering if any of you lovely MNers would like some stuff for free?

There's too much to list individually, but for instance, there's a Monsoon black tuxedo jacket, Lipsticks that have never been used, a pair of cream wedge sandals, etc

What I suggest is that if you're after something specific, is to post outlining it eg 'I have a job interview next week and would love a new smart jacket' or 'I'd like to experiment and try a new lipstick colour', or whatever, and if I have something similar I'll post. One item per person please. Once we've agreed on who will get what, lets PM and I'll post the item to you.

:-)

Why, thank you for saying so, Oldbag!

PS - I'm actually launching a new business as a wardrobe organiser/personal stylist/shopper. If you're based London, I could do your wardrobe for free as practice! PM me if you like :)

Tiger bear I need some flat shoes moccasin or loafer style and a blazer/ jacket if you have anything like that? Smile

Pickering · 12/09/2014 06:40

It is so incredibly kind of you to offer. And I feel sort of cheeky for asking but I have a first night out after baby and losing weight coming up and would love a some kind of accessory to go with my outfit. A bag or statement necklace maybe...

Will try to pay this forward if I can.

Pickering · 12/09/2014 06:46

Or maybe a scarf. (Indecisive)

MikeTheShite · 12/09/2014 06:47

id really really love to try red lipstick

larrybadler · 12/09/2014 06:56

I've got a new job which will mean looking smarter than usual, I'd love a new jacket! I'm happy to pay it forward/offer some stuff to other people

Asleeponasunbeam · 12/09/2014 07:00

I've started the new term looking nice! I've got a few new dresses and am learning to accept compliments (I used to wear crap so nobody would comment - freak!).

I'm still scared of jewellery and scarves, so if you're getting rid of anything like that, I'd be a grateful recipient.

What a fun idea. Would be well beyond my meagre organisational skills! Thanks.

worm77daisy · 12/09/2014 07:00

How lovely of you Tigerbear I could really do with some smart tops/ flat shoes for work. My work wardrobe is now at least 10 years old, it still fits and is fine but is a bit dull and looking a bit worn and I'm fed up with it.

I already give away all our baby clothes and toys to people we come across. People are very grateful, you get a much nicer feeling than selling on eBay!

buttercrumble · 12/09/2014 07:07

How kind of you tiger bear , I would love a jumper now that the weather is getting cooler. I have recently given a few pieces to my local hospice , it's nice to think that other people can benefit Smile

BiggerYellowTaxi · 12/09/2014 07:10

First off, how lovely of you! I'm going back to work from mat leave soon so need all sorts at the minute. But the thing I'm in most need of is an everyday watch with a largish face. My job involves hour long sessions so it's really helpful to be able to tell the time discretely.

TheRealMaudOHara · 12/09/2014 07:29

Oh gosh this is very kind! I've just stopped breastfeeding and need a jumper or warm top which doesn't provide easy boob access for once. More than happy to pay it forward too!

Tomsayer · 12/09/2014 07:47

That is so lovely of you tigerbear! Not sure if you have anything, but am pregnant and desperately need some loose tops or pregnancy tops.

Badvoc123 · 12/09/2014 07:53

Any dresses suitable for a big 40th b day party!?
What a lovely idea, op :)

lurkingfromhome · 12/09/2014 08:12

I have been looking for weeks for a blazer that doesn't look like office wear - something in a textured fabric or subtle print, in grey or navy, possibly black, and not cropped.

If this works out, op, I'd be happy to bung a little bit of cash to a charity of your choice. It's so kind of you to not try to sell everything and make some cash to buy new stuff with as I would certainly be doing myself

CrumblyMumbly · 12/09/2014 08:23

I'm still looking for my 'forever' lipstick as pesky No 7 changed the colour of Plum Beautiful so it no longer suits me! I'm not sure what size your clothes/shoes are so not sure if they would fit me. I've lost 2 stone and still have some to lose. I gave all my 'fat' clothes to charity, now realise I have nothing to wear! What a great idea and so nice of you.

Tigerbear · 12/09/2014 08:23

Ooh, how exciting!
I've just woken up and checked the thread - how lovely to read all of your posts.

Sorry, I should have asked this earlier, but please could you all post what size you are? Most of the clothes are anywhere between size 8 and 18! (But mostly 8-12). Shoes are size 4.

I'm pretty certain I have something to suit everyone who has posted so far, depending on size. Let me double check, and I'll post again in a few min!

Tiger where in London are you? Have been debating getting 'styled' as I am utterly clueless . .My wardrobe is a right mish mash, mainly moths hand me downs from MIL - which I thought were lovely as from Monsoon until I saw a rather more elderly lady wear one coming out of a prom the other day - and thus I need to stand on my own sartorial two feet Shock

buttercrumble · 12/09/2014 08:27

Hi tigerbear I posted earlier , size12 to 14 here Smile

Tigerbear · 12/09/2014 08:27

I'm going to post photos of the things that might suit each poster so far. Original poster gets first dibs on each item!

I'm probably a medium sized 14 (not in skinny shops) hoping to get to a 12. Shoe size 6 so they are out sadly...I love shoes :(

Tigerbear I'm a size 10 and a shoe size 4 :) I would love a dress if you have one...

BiggerYellowTaxi · 12/09/2014 08:33

Tomsayer what size are you? I have loads of maternity clothes, most are probably a 16, some are 18s and there may be a few 14s. I also have some normal size 18 tops that are now too big. I'd be happy to pass some things along if you think they'd fit.

Tigerbear · 12/09/2014 08:34

Forgot to say, Oldbag, am VVV jealous of your walk in wardrobe! It's my dream to have one! Seriously, if you're London based, I'd be happy to sort it out.

Cod - I'm SE London, Greenwich, but happy to travel.
