Is it any good?

It sounds like it would be exactly what I am looking for... If it does what it says!

I tried some CT makeup ,and her something magic cream, which you use as a primer, and was very disapointed in every single item I bought,it left my face a shiny shimmery mess.
There is no denying that Carlotte is a very talented makeup artist, but her makeup is just all packaging and nothing more,
I would

Santa - my opinion exactly. Layer upon layer of packaging, but what what was inside (two eyeliners praised to the skies in the Sunday Times) was no use at all. They slid off me in the time it took to get downstairs. I posted about it at the time.

Try to get a sample, OP, before you commit the funds!

Yup same here. The MUA first used the Magic Cream (felt like Nivea on my face), the Wonderglow, foundation and concealer. Looked great at the counter but yikes in the day light it managed to look both greasy and cakey, accentuating every crease/line on my face (and without makeup I'm fairly line free!)

The eyeshadow stick stuck to my lashes and smeared onto my contacts (I had to run to loo after to remove and clean them).

All in all not great I thought. I think you're paying for the (albeit lovely) packaging and name. If I was going to spend that much I would go to Chanel, Tom Ford or similar.

Same experience here - the make up is the worst I have ever bought. Utterly appalling quality and effect.

I reckon if she weren't so well connected she wouldn't get the rave reviews.

I've binned mine. I never bin make up Grin

OP if you want something similar, MAC Strobe cream can be applied sparingly before foundation (or mixed in with base). Or any of the Benefit highlighters. No 7 and Revlon do similar products too.

I have one of her colour chameleon eyeshadow sticks which is meh and an eyebrow pencil which I like.

But even the packaging is a bit rubbish as it feels flimsy and the gold lettering rubbed off within weeks.

I am tempted by some other products but I probably won't bother as the brand seems to be more Style over Substance than anything else. Shame, as with her name and reputation she could have become the new Nars.

Oh how disappointing! :(

Thank you for all the replies...

Moomincow, will look into your suggestions thanks

I was going to spend that much as it had sounded good... And presumed a higher end illuminating product would mean glow without the sparkle...!

Thanks again

I like the lipsticks and kind of Nars Multiple type things (beach sticks, I think they're called, brought a couple on hols for lazy makeup and worked v well) but I've heard very mixed reviews about some of the other products.

As an alternative to the glow thing, how about the new YSL Rose Gold primer from Boots? Have heard v good things about it as a non sparkly illuminator.

Thankyou so much everyone for this as I have been looking forward to visiting the Charlotte Tilbury counter on Saturday for weeks! I was going to treat myself as I'd seen so many positive reviews in the press.I think I'll try Tom Ford instead.

A good makeup base is embryoliss,a bit heavy and I only use the tiniest bit, it gives a dewy feel to my skin specially if its dry,or looks tired
,
also, la Roche posey hydra phase light, is good for mixing with foundation for a lighter consistency,

Op,if you want something to add a bit of "glow" stick with nars cream highlighters, orgasm gives the lightest hint of natural flush, not the goldy shimmery fake highlight found in most makeup brands, afake bake by urban decayis good too, but I think its only available in us? I've never seen it in uk or Europe,

I've learned about CT from NAP, and like a gullible looney bought an entire look to use for an Xmas party,my dh told me that I look like an ill person and my forehead is covered in white shimmery stuff!! I think he was being nice actually because I really looked horrible, I took it all off and applied my normal makeup. gave it another try a few days later, and it was worse in the day light, just like what moomincow said, it made look like I had under eye wrinkles, and I have no under eye wrinkles at all!!

Yes I'm glad I tried it on first. The range had been so over-hyped in the press, YouTube and blogs. Her marketing/PR team have obviously done a great job there!

I love her beachsticks - have ibiza and moonbeach and they really are lovely.

I bought the Magic cream and it's no different to any other face cream I've tried really. Very shiny and greasy though which is great if you've got dry skin but on greasy/combi skin, not good. At £70 a pot it's daylight robbery. I won't be buying again.
