Find me a wedding dress! (Please)

I'm a size 16, 2 children, 2nd marriage (for us both) late twenties.
After a recent health scare we have decided to tie the knot as soon as we can, which is next May. A small registry office ceremony and meal with close family after. I'm not overly girly, but do like the lace look. I don't wear dresses often at all, so it will be a one time wear kinda dress.
Am I too old, too.. 2nd marriage for cream/ivory? I'd still like to feel like a bride!
I think I'd like it to the floor, I hate getting my legs out, but nothing puffy! I have a fat ass :( even when slimmer (which I'm hoping for) I still give Kim k a run for her money! So fancy informal, maybe lace, slimming.
I'm pale skinned, light brown hair.

Money is a factor, trying to keep under £400.

Ultimately we just want our day to be special to us and our family, but I'd like to look abit... Bride like for dp!

I've tried looking but they all seem to be for size 6/8's :(

Help me please!

Congratulations! Late twenties - of course you're not too old. You're very young. Also it isn't really a second marriage, because it's your first marriage to him Smile

I'm sure you'll get some great suggestions on here.

Congratulations Grin

How about having a look at the Outnet (Net a Porter discount site)?

From Outnet I found these below which may work. Some are listed in US sizes so add two sizes for UK equivalent.

Hi - I am getting married soon -and it'll be my first proper one (the first one didn't count). So congrats!

There is an amazing site I saw on 'This Morning' - it's called MAID TO MEASURE. it is supposed to be bridesmaid dresses but I would use it for wedding. They have a massive range of styles. You pick the style, pick the colour and pick the size - think they are about 200. or 250ish i think.

I intend on getting my dress from there - I like the Suzannah. I love it as there is a style for every body type. I too am unsure as to what colour to pick..... as it's the 2nd one. and we have a baby.

Good luck and congrats x

yesiam I love your choices, especially the one you love too!! The train on the other one... oh my... soooo pretty! thanks a lot.

familiessharegerms - abit clingy for my KimK ass, but thank you, the lace one is very pretty.

SNAPPYCOW! - I think I need to kiss you!!! I am in love with this one www.maidstomeasure.com/maids-brand/suzannah.aspx
I think its the one! I am a few hours from London, but I might see if I can get an appointment.

I am very pear shaped literally my top half is two and a half sizes smaller, so I think it might be best to be sized etc. I love quite a few on that site.

Thank you all so so much! You all have beautiful taste

YES!! I love that one - although I am worried that on anyone other than a size 10 it might be a bit unflattering - i can't decide between them - if you went to a fitting I am sure they could show you/ tell you what suits your body shape. I think the Bella one would be super flattering. (I am too, of the large bottom kind). I wish i could get a few of them! and wear one in the day, one in the evening.

Prettybunting · 22/08/2014 16:52

I have a few tattoos, and I think the sleeved option is good to hide them. I love my tattoos, but not at my wedding.

I don't think it would be unflattering if you are taller or wear heels, I think I would ask for the bow abit bigger. I have seen a version where the bodice bit is lacey too! I like the ones with abit of length at the back, not quite a train, but not straight. I think I would probably get it longer and then take it up at the front. There is a stockist within an hour of me, so I think I shall go there instead.

I am really worried now that I am going to look fat in it :(
