Worried about my ankles being cold

I've started having a look at a/w collections and I'm confused by the foot/ankle area. There are lots of slim leg and peg trousers still about, but the models have sandals or stiletto courts on. Some of these styles work with ankle boots, some don't. I don't like being cold.

What trouser and shoe combinations will you be wearing this a/w? I've spent the summer in harems and sandals. I'll miss them.
