Hi all.. , several of us on S&B have been posting about our clothese spending ( we know thatis what S&B is about [smile}.

We have wardrobes and chest of drawers utterlyand totally rammed...

We have piles of clothese we've even forgotten we have,(some with the lables still on )

We obsessively peruse S&B looking at recommendations (and then buy them, just because there are there)

We have no willpower,(yet Wink)

We are a friend to every online shop and discount offer going..(not to mention credit card companies)

We just cannot resist sales..

Our postmen and women and the local couriers are getting to know us better than our friends and neighbours..

BUT we want toget back into control and just enjoy what we have to wear.

To this end We the Undersigned PLEDGE to a NO spend August on clothes bags, accessories and shoes (and also make up and beauty products if that is your weakness)

The ONLY exceptions will be tights, basic underwear (knickers and bras) and to replace something that has Genuinley worn out..

It will be hard .. It will be tough.. We will have to be accountable to each other ..BUT WE CAN DO IT!

So Who's in? Smile

Sign up below .. (and try and resist spending for the rest of July.. this is NOT atime to stock up before too late!!)..

those who sign up wil be prepared check in here regularily

(A tyrant ain't I? Grin

The rest of July? That's 4 days! You need to do better than that!
How about donating surplus clothes - the ones you forgot you had - to needy mumsnetters?

Laska42 · 27/07/2014 19:13

I'm hoping that No spend August is just the start for me , but we start slowly .. (yes 4 days left in July , but like a I say ..its NOT an excuse to stock up in anticipation, we want to crack this spending )..

Oh me. I have a wardrobe full of clothes, most of which I hate or have grown too fat for. I wear the same few things day after day and wish I could live in my dressing gown. I need discipline. I need to stop buying things that I think will make me look young and slim.

I will sort out my wardrobe.

Greengardenpixie · 27/07/2014 19:17

I am a clothes a holiday too! I'm inGrin It's going to be tough!

Greengardenpixie · 27/07/2014 19:19

That should have said clothesaholic lol!

SpringItOn · 27/07/2014 19:29

I was on the other thread.

I'm in. I am going on holiday shortly and need to replace basic vest tops which have gone grey in the wash but that is all I will buy. I promise.

I don't mean it

I do I do I do honest.......... Grin

Misssss · 27/07/2014 19:30

I'm in, I've spent a ridiculous amount on clothes this month. I have three full to bursting triple wardrobes AND a walk in wardrobe/shoe room and I still have nothing to wear. I think with the amount of stuff I have I can't see what I want and go get more.

I have an online order arriving this week and I'll need to buy some essential toiletries but no clothes whatsoever in august!

Itscurtainsforyou · 27/07/2014 19:36

I'm in! I've just started project 333 so trying to keep my clothes to a minimum but still get tempted by the marketing emails I get...

Laska42 · 27/07/2014 19:40

essential toiletries are allowed Missss ! its all about not spending on what we already have.. I put in the beauty products bit for those ( like me) who have tons of those waiting to be used also...

Welcome everyone! (I feel a bit scared already, but I just went upstairs to find a spare hanger for a dress I have just washed .. and I dont have one ( of course, I have hundreds of hangers .. all full) so I nicked one out of DH's (single ) wardrobe!

First thing I'm going to do is unsubscribe to all clothes websites (eek!). I also pledge to throw away any Autumn catalogues that come through the post

OP posts:
Greengardenpixie · 27/07/2014 19:40

I am starting to unsubscribe my emails. I think this will remove temptation :) will start with the ones i never buy from and gradually to the only ones i really buy from :/ How on earth will i survive without my fix!!!

DidoTheDodo · 27/07/2014 19:47

I shall buy books!

Valsoldknickers · 27/07/2014 19:48

An emotional overshopper here whose local courier calls me by my first name.Blush

I don't really need to shop, I just need to lose my post pregnancy weight, then do a wardrobe(s!) cull and pay off my credit card.

Please count me in.

Greengardenpixie · 27/07/2014 19:50

Greengardenpixie · 27/07/2014 19:52

Laska42 · 27/07/2014 19:59
