My scalp has gone v weird. Not dandruff exactly, just white and scaly and itchy. I've tried Alphosyl shampoo and Neutrogena T gel, with no joy. I think it's a combo of perspiration and stress. It's not troubling enough to go to the GP with. Please let me know if you found a cure? Thank you Thanks

Does it look like cradle cap? Try olive oil massaged into scalp about 20 mins before washing and it should slide off. You ought need to retreat a couple of times.

If cradle cap, use a nit comb after the oil to lift the flakes.

Yes, not a million miles from cradle cap but a bit grittier. Will definitely try Olive Oil as 'medicine' isn't working. Thank you.

I'd try a coal tar shampoo... or olive oil to get it to lift off

Gp if it persists.

Definitely stress related for me. But I also have alopecia. So I'm a scabby bald mess.

If it persists, go to the GP and they may send a sample to the lab i.e. might be yeast/fungus

it sounds like what my DS had, hope I spell it correctly- seborrheic dermatitis.
though shampooing with t-gel did work after a while, about a week of daily shampooing. he had actually lost a little patch of hair due to it, but it all grew back fine.

My DS has a very flakey scalp at the moment (my family and DH family has a history of psoriasis so it wouldn't surprise me)

I tried him on TGel but it made his face skin really dry ( DS had a weird reaction to Johnsons as a baby, made him like sandpaper)

He uses a Nitty Gritty and Eucerin shampoo which has helped .

Check it isn't psoriasis, eczema or dermatitis.

If not then it may simply be that you are getting dried out by your hair products, made worse by the heat. SLS free shampoo may improve things or something really gentle and hydrating like Kerastase Bio-Recharge.
