I need a bag, please

A work bag, but must be a rucksack-type (going over both shoulders) as I do a lot of walking. Preferably not looking as if I'm going for a hike up a mountain, though ...

With plenty of inside compartments to give various things a home, as I'm sick of scrabbling around at the bottom of my current one to find my purse etc.

Preferably waterproof and not flimsy, but halfway to stylish at the same time! Any good links? Grin

Oh, and once a week it needs to accommodate two yoga towels and all the showering paraphernalia that goes with that, too! Forgot to say.

Hm.

Okaaay.

I believe I'm going to attempt the record for the longest thread with the OP talking solely to herself. Wonder how many posts I can get up to? Here goes ... Grin

Y'know, bags.

They're these capacious soft-walled bucket-like contraptions in such materials as leather, fabric, PVC, what have you, that can be used to store all sorts of paraphernalia.

Most people do genuinely own the odd bag or two. You can tell from the snowballing torrent of helpful posts and advice on this thread Grin

Or should that be Gin?

A reply! I don't have a recommendation but I think you either need a rucksack bag for daily use or an ordinary rucksack you can put your yoga things in. IMO the two are not compatible.

ASOS have an absolute ton of leather rucksack type things for some reason. Try there.

I'd go for a plain black Kipling one. Not terribly stylish, but inoffensive and really light.

I've got this black Kipling backpack which is great as it has lots of compartments and is very light and also claims to be water resistant but not tested that.
I also have a leather Picard backpack similar to the one NormalTea linked to, which I got from TK Maxx a couple of years ago. It is very well made and also light but I tend to use it more for smarter backpack type occasions than the Kipling one. Both are good but for all round usability the
Kipling is better and more functional, especially as it is black so dh can carry it too if needed.

OMG, I'd left this thread for dead, totally forgot about it! Thanks for all the replies Blush - they are really helpful! I loooove the Kipling ones and I think I have my winner there - the Firefly thingie, totally love the chunky zips. I really hope it's hard-wearing, though.

Belated thanks again! Smile
