what beauty and grooming tasks do you hate?

Just on way for leg and bikini wax and been thinking about how much I hate it - its still fairly painful even though I've been waxing for years and its a faff. I only do it coz the results are so much longer lasting than shaving. Will be glad when its done.

Also find the hairdresser a faff. I love the results but don't look forward to the process much - I have tons of hair so colour and cut takes 3 hours!

Never had one but don't think I could be bothered with a facial

What are your beauty bores?

top lip! wax and bleach damages the skin even more than fags have so I tweeze. About once every two years Grin

Over the years I have gradually stopped the hairdressers 100% I just hated it and my hair is a very non descript shape and can DIY. Also stopped waxing a few years ago and although shaving is a pain my skin is better . So for me shaving I dread it and fake tanning is one that annoys me too but I look so much better I keep going!

Dying my hair is such a faff, I hate it. Eyebrow tweeze is awful too.

Waxing - my bikini line is quite sensitive and it still hurts 20 years later. I begrudge paying for pain.

Eye brow plucking. I recently started to have them threaded, so much better. I, too, find going to the hairdresser a complete bore but it has to be endured. Oh, and shaving my legs.

I hate shaving, waxing is so much better but I can't afford to go to a beautician regularly.
I hate applying body moisturiser too, faff faff faff.
I hate all of it actually, but I do like looking nice.

Colouring my hair and shaving my legs, both of which need to be done this evening. Had my hair in a different style today and my roots were shocking!

I hate keeping the horrible skin on my heels off. They get so dry and horny if I don't keep on top of them. They have got bad in the last couple of weeks that they have cracked so I went to the chiropodist today to have them sliced off! Feels so much better.

Oh yes heels. Trying to get a grip on mine at the moment.

Flossing! teeth so close together, thanks to very enthusiastic orthodontics, so have to thread each piece of floss through each gap. Utterly tedious, my whole mouth takes about 20 minutes so I never do it.

Painting my nails, I can never get it perfect and then it chips.

Bikini waxing is never much fun, and a top lip wax is pretty unpleasant too. The latter often means I get a few small spots on my upper lip area approx 48 hrs after waxing, so I have to time my appointments carefully, ie not just before a big party or event.

Blow drying my hair. HATE it.

Takes nearly an hour FFS. And never looks half as good as a salon blow dry. If I had one wish it would be to have a magical hairdressing fairy turn up at my house in the mornings when I wash it...

All of it. It all feels like a chore and bores me rigid, but when I try to pare down there's nothing that I feel I can afford to lose. My one concession to keeping my sanity is refusing to fake tan. It's a step too far for me. Nails, skincare, hair and make-up is time-consuming enough. Sadly one seems to need more and more help with age. It's a drag.

Love the hairdresser. Hate fake tanning. But I am the original paleface and HAVE to in the summer just a tiny bit or I look like Vlad the Impaler Hmm

I also look like the undead manatee. If I could get a nice lady to come and spray me cheaply at home then it might be different, but the sheer hassle of trying to reach everywhere makes me feel tired just thinking about it

I ditched fake tan a few years ago madmomma - you get used to it. Its nice to embrace the pale! So long as skin is exfoliated and moisturised its fine

I just wish there was a quicker way to get ready for work in the morning. I always have a shower, as I have to wash my hair every morning (it never survives a nights sleep) so by the time I've had my shower, done my make-up. dried my hair and got dressed, it's taken just under an hour. I have to look fairly groomed for work, so turning up looking scruffy isn't an option!

Salty the Babyliss big hair made a big difference to my hair drying, have you tried it? It makes my thick hair thin Grin

This is weird but I actually detest washing my face in the evenings. I don't mind it when I do it as part of a bath or shower, but if all I have to do is wash my face (I use make up daily) I put it off and I have been known to sleep with my make up on. I hate the way water runs down my arms to my elbows when I lean down to splash my face. I've only ever known one other person who hated washing her face as much as I do and she was a right weirdo! Grin

I hate have my legs and bikini line waxed- so painful and find making appts , finding somewhere to park etc an irritation .
I stopped the waxing and started shaving, which I also hate so I don't bother at all now!

I hate being hairy though , what's the solution ?

I hate taking my eye make-up off and shaving my legs but love putting on body moisturiser - find it really therapeutic! I also hate going to the hairdresser but prefer my hair short so have to go every 8 weeks or less

You're not the only one hating face washing !

I can't bear getting my hairline wet ( I'm fine in the shower) if I do it over the basin .

I find the whole thing an utter faff. Sometimes I'm just too bored and fed up to go through the whole bodybrush-makeupoff-shower-moisturise-cleanseface-moisturiseface-cleanteeth routine. I still do it Grin. I do all of it and keep on top of it all. Have never done fake tan and I never do salon facials (save the money for botox!). I don't mind doing my nails actually and I re-do them every 5 days. Seem to have got the hand of it, more or less, and I watch a film or something whilst I am doing it, so it's quite enjoyable.

Doin for legs I like epilating, I have a Braun epilator that I can use in the bath. It was agony the first time but fine thereafter. I also use it on my underarms. Tried it on my bikini line once and nearly passed out, never again!

I never wash my face. Wipes and cleanser only.
And I don't bother with hand cream but probably should.
Come to think about it, it's all a pain. I had a facial once and felt like laughing all the way through.
