After-combed it through top layers from parting, and then the bits I didn't touch-not a huge difference really......

Did you think it was worth it?
I have mouse coloured hair, wondered if it would work?

I'll have another go and maybe be a bit more generous with the gel-dead easy to do, I just combed in it and blasted it dry with hair dryer Smile

Great thank you.
Is it permanent?
I'm intrigued!

seriously do none of you remember the scourge of Sun In during the 80s. Half of the teenage population sprayed it on liberally and ended up with brassy hair.

Ooh thanks everyone.
Definitely going to try this.

I'm with Madame, how does this differ from the disaster that was sun in?

Who remembers doing DIY highlights with jolene facial hair bleach?!? Hello 1992!

Report
fuckinglondonballs · 15/06/2014 16:35

DON'T DO IT YOU LOONS!

It's just bleach! I did Sun In and my hair looked like shit for YEARS while it grew out. It went a nice orange hue.

Don't do it!!!!!!!!1111

I'm serioisly tempted by the promise of sun-kissed locks but I do remember having a Sun In disaster that wrecked my hair and turned it carrot coloured for ages until it grew out. My 5th form photo is an absolute gem thanks to Sun In, so bad that DH put it in the local rag for a 40th birthday surprise the bastard Maybe I won't try it after all.

Sun In was class.

I used kitchen bleach, depsite have hair the colour of a post it note. But then I also tried to smoke "grass" from my friend's garden.

If it's anything like the much missed John Frieda blonde streaks stuff, then it wouldn't turn hair brassy. Sounds quite like it so I'm intrigued!

Isn't this so you can do your own beyalage (sp) at home - Backcomb bottom ends of hair then put jelly on bits that haven't been backcombed.

It 'should' look natural like the sun has lightened the ends.
I'm not going near it - still traumatised by my teenage experiences with sun in.

Sun In works well if you are already blonde.

Lemon juice is also good --I know because it worked shockingly well on DS when he was 8yo)

I'm with Madame, sounds like Sun In to me runs screaming for the hills at the memory of THAT mistake

Ive tried it and it looks really good. Having said that my friend also tried it and its made her highlights look......like crayon lines is the only thing I can think to compare it to.

Report
wildone81 · 16/06/2014 14:30

Joker giggles, did you comb it through sections or just scrunch it in all over?

Report
JokersGiggle · 16/06/2014 15:12

Scrunching and only on the top layers. And only a small amount, I have a tousled look and it fits well.
Just realised that my friend brushed a load all the way through.
