Toenail varnish

Having let my feet out for the first time this year, I am toying with the idea of toenail varnish. I don't normally wear nail varnish.

Ought the varnish match what I'm wearing, or can I leave the same colour on for several days?

Toe nail varnish must be worn at all times! No exceptions!!!
Go for a nice bright peachy coral colour or silver is good for summer.

the varnish doesnt need to match what your wearing btw

im lazy i normally varnish my toes for going out and leave it on until the next time im going out and either top it up or remove it for something else

If you're a varnish virgin, maybe go for a pedi? That way your nails will be looked after a bit, and your cuticles, and the colour will be really well applied & last ages.

Red is a neutral when it comes to nail varnish

I generally stick with reds, pinks, corals and oranges on my toes. I love more unusual colours on my hands like blue but i'm pale and it looks odd on my feet.
It doesn't have to match anything, wear what makes you happy!
This is the colour i have on atm, excuse the poor application, i normally pick that off Blush

Felt the urge to show my foot as well!

I have no original thoughts Sad

Until yesterday they were a very dark burgundy (almost brown)

I too paint my toe nails and leave it/top up over a few weeks

I have a basket full of varnishes, but the only corally ones are translucent.

Revlon is good six
I still rate the £1 mua although others don't.
Models own have a pretty thick formula. Try 3/4 very thin coats instead of the traditional 1/2.

What sort of skin tone do you have? Dark, light, pinky?

I am going through a mix and match phase...alternate bright pink (match new white/pink Birkenstocks) and coral..cos I like it. Just makes me smile to see my odd toes Grin

Am I really the only mner who thinks any toe varnish other than clear or very pale pink / peach / cream is a bit tacky?

Skin tone...ummm...Confused

I have dark hair and eyes, and pale skin, but if I stand next to a blonde I look more olive than them. Does that make sense?

Red! Goes with everything, very classic and as a pp said is a toenail neutral.

tugamummy, I don't think I could carry off 'elegant' in my Birkenstocks, no matter what colour varnish I wore!

I usually go dark on toenails, black, navy, rouge noir, but sometime i go a bit kraykray and do a rainbow (red, yellow, green, blue, purple...i DO NOT have seven toes on each foot) or today I just did a pink assortment, two pinks on random toes, just for the hell of it.

I get gellish so it lasts about 6 weeks. I wish I could wear clear on my toes but my nails aren't nice enough , an eternal toe stubber.

Sounds like you have similar skin tone to me. As others have said red is a great classic- but a more bluey red should look better on you iyswim?
tuga if you think my nail varnish is tacky you should see the rest of me Grin

I wore my birkies today with my pale toe nail varnish and thought it looked very elegant. Just can't seem to like the red, etc, specially when paired with sparkly or gold / silver sandals. Just find it a bit brits on holiday in Benidorm....

I usually go blue, green, mauve or silver. Pale skin with a yellow tinge so don't suit red, coral or pink (unless it's a pink with lots of blue in).

I give up - don't deal well with this lack of support! Grin

I wear that turquoise Rimmel one on my toes sometimes, but I think pearl ones look a bit dated at the moment. I tend to wear blood red, reddish purples, non-pearly turquoise or pinks on my toes. Those tone with the colours I tend to wear the most. I don't suit coral at all, but love it on other people.

I like the coral on your nails, mermaid, but I don't have anything like it. I've got lots of browns, but I don't fancy any of them.

I think the colour you showed is lovely. But I wore red nail varnish on my toes and pink on my fingers today so what do I know?! I did wear ballet pumps so no one saw my feet though!
