Fed up of skinnies

Because I feel I have to find find tops long enough to cover at least half of my bum.

What's the alternative? Confused

Boyfriends? Actually I find straight legs baggy enough and turn up the ends, big deep turn back rather than turning up a couple of times iykwim

I got my first pair of boyfriends this week after rather stupidly going jeans shopping when bloated & premenstrual. In my defence, dd2 had fallen asleep in the stroller so I was grabbing my chance! Anyway, I looked like shit in the skinnies I tried on, so tried the boyfriends in despair.

They're from Topshop & are amazing. I've been wearing them with a chambray shirt/leather jacket/converse and last night with a slinky top & coral stilettos. Great buy.

I still wear bootcut, for jeans and smart trousers. Skinnies or even straight leg look ridiculous on me. I know people don't like them but I refuse to look like a walking parsnip on account of fashion.

I need to be brave and go and try on some boyfriends.

I love boyfriend jeans. Not so good for winter cos you can't tuck them in boots, but right now, with converse or similar, perfect!

I've always struggled how to explain what's wrong when I try to wear skinnies, christ it IS like a parsnip isn't it!!!!!!

Why can't boyfriends be tucked in boots?

Well they can in theory but tend to make the zip struggle more than skinnies would!

My problem with boyfriend jeans is that they are usually faded/ really casual looking and therefore harder to dress up. But they are really popular right now. I have a wide legged chloe 70s style pair which I think look great with wedges.... and I will always love levis 501s

Or are 501s technically boyfriend jeans?!

Straight leg jeans are the best, true classic that will outlive skinny and bootcut.

Agree that straight legs are the way forward. They always feel 'right'.

I look awful in my boyfriend jeans! Are they went to be so baggy on your bum?

I think Boyfriends are harder to get right than skinnies.
You only had to see how hard it was for Doesmybum woman, she tried on countless pairs and her size 8 butt looked awful in so many, she really struggled to find a pair that flattered.
I believe straight legs are your best option. Gap real straight are flattering for a lot of people...worth a try?

I still wear skinnies, but only with a tunic/long top -otherwise I look ridiculous. If you're wearing boyfriends, have you definitely got to do turn ups at the bottom? Is that how you're supposed to wear them?

Is it that boyfriends don't suit the skinnier you are?

I think you have to try a lot of different boyfriend styles on to find the right ones. If you are used to skinnies and are slightly more on the polished rather than scruffy casual side style wise then definitely go for skinny boyfriends and non-distressed. Will try and link a few...

I like the Asos ones (especially the price)!

libertytrainers where from? that might be my answer to not being able to wear skirts (they ride up til the waist is at my boobs!), and I dislike the dress / skirt flying up bit.
Cheers

I think everyone's bored of skinnies, thus the turn to boyfriend and flares...

I'm currently rocking skinny bell bottoms to keep the spirit of 75 alive...

yy to Levi's 501s. I'm so glad that I kept mine from when I was 17...

It's a rare person that looks good in boyfriend jeans.
