Everywhere I have lived, I've always been cold in the winter. I hate being cold!
It's finally clicked that LAYERS keep you warm. It's only taken me 3 and a half decades to figure this out. I am cold because I wear thin summer clothing with a jacket on top... Not going to cut it!!
I spent ages on pinterest and polyvore looking at how to layer, for some reason I just couldn't grasp it properly until I'd seen loads of examples. But I am proud to announce that I NOW GET IT and all the lovely basic long sleeve tshirts and loose fitting tops I ordered online arrived this afternoon! Several jumpers are on the way too!
This winter I will be warm for the fist time ever. And I will look good as well!!
Someone on mn posted that things like long cardies, etc only cover up your bum or your tum to you ie you think they're hidden. What they actually do is add a thick layer of material to a part of your body that is already thick enough!
I caught sight of myself in my fave cardie and i just looked so big! Took it off braving a wobbly tum and bingo wings and i looked so much smaller in just my top. Wonderous advice!
I probably haven't explained that very well but i hope you understand!
Lipstick! Can't believe I never bothered until this year.
I worry about the blonde hair thing. I've dyed my hair blonde for 10 years from my natural mousey colour. I think it's better blonde but read all the time that people suddenly realise it's better dark.
Sorting washing really helps. I used to ing everything in together and put it on a mixed wash. Now I do: - Whites (pretty much all cotton) - heavy darks (jeans, dark towels) - DH's work stuff (building sites) - sports stuff (swimming kit, running kit, cycling kit) and other synthetics - other stuff (t shirts, socks, pants etc)
different to some posters; my 'natural' hair is a frizzy mess and doesn't look like all those lovely 'natural hair' pictures on Pinterest but fighting with it to smooth (notice not straighten) it just makes me feel useless so extenso plus no styling leaves it smooth, slightly wavy and healthy looking & makes me feel a lot better FWIW
