Converse or Superga? And what colour?

I keep reading that Superga are more comfortable than Comverse. Are they really? Anyway, have a pair of a dark-ish grey Converse in my John Lewis basket then got looking at Superga but the colours are a bit too pastel for me. Now dithering - which brand and dark grey, light grey, navy, double tongue, single tongue, blah blah blah. Just need a wearable colour for spring/summer - bearing in mind I'm a 40-something, not a twenty-something! What has anyone else got?

I am 44 and have just bought navy quilted leather converse and I love them! Got them in Office

I got purple superdry last year and have worn them lots, had to break them in, but that was wearing them with no socks. They seem cheaper than converse too.

Superga wearer here! They're not all pastel colours - my favourite are a lovely pale khaki.
My feet are a nightmare - size 8, wide and I have arthritis that affects them, but I find them comfortable.

I've always worn converse too, keep looking online at the superga, really need to go and try some on but somehow it feels I'm being unfaithful to converse.

I prefer superga as I am not keen on the white tie piece.on converse.
I have cream linen superga but am going for palest grey and navy this year.
They wash well

Prefer Converse. Superga look too wide and clumpy imho. I'd get leather Converse in a neutral colour.

I find Superga much more comfortable. I love my Converse but I think they make my (gigantic clown) feet look bigger.

Another Superga here. I have them in a cream colour, very comfy and do wash really well.
You can someetimes get them on secretsales.com too, mine were about £15.

I have both and they're both really comfortable, but the
converse slightly more so.

I have both - white Superga and white Converse hi-tops. I like the Superga but I find them heavier to wear than the Converse and a bit clumpier. I have quite narrow feet and I think Converse fit my feet better (width ways).

If you have even slightly wide feet the Superga are the way to go.

I was dithering over a pair of converse recently. In the end I bought converse lookalikes from next because they were way more comfortable. I bought white, but they also come in grey and in navy.

I have both but prefer Superga. I wild have a look on their website for the full range of colours though, lots that aren't pastel! Definitely size down half a size too.

Okay, I'm going to stick to Converse. I've got fine ankles so think the Superga will look too heavy/clumpy on me. Now continuing to dither over colour - various baskets contain grey, navy leather, thinking navy canvas or a pale grey. Decisions, decisions!

Thanks all!

I've just transitioned from Superga to Converse. Converse much more comfy for me, the Superga were too shallow in the toe. I have white Cons, they are brill, go with everything.

I'm odd
I like both!

Superga do make your feet look wider but on the whole I think converse are slightly more comfy

I've never heard of Superga, just looked them up, turns out I've been wearing a pair of Primark ripoffs! I found converse to be no better made than the cheap lookalikes, they still crack along the soles (from kneeling) so won't be getting them again.

An alternative would be Ethletic - way comfier than Converse IMO. Haven't washed mine yet, however.

I like those Ethletics. How does the sizing come up?

I find Converse uncomfortable. Superga fit me perfectly though.

There are often sales on their website - so you can pick up a pair for £20 or less if you don't want to commit to the full price.

I bought a navy pair early on last summer, and an ecru pair in the autumn. both have washed well too, so am anticipating they will last me all this summer too.
