My hands are so dry and sore, kids have had a terrible stomach bug and my dishwasher has broken so my hands are in water or being washed way more than normal.

They're normally fairly dry but my normal hand cream won't touch it, please help!!

Body Shop hemp.

My normal one is a red Garnier tube, costs about £4 but I generally wait for supermarket offers and then stock up.

When I have cash to flash I love the l'Occitane hand cream. Got a lovely Nuxe one at Christmas and it smells divine. Clarins also make a fab hand cream too. Oh and the Jurlique lavender one is on my list too.

I use Norwegian formula. Cheap enough for a think layer each evening with some mittens on overnight.

The Body Shop Hemp is good but I can't stand the smell.

L'Occitane Shea Butter really works on my lizard skin.

Aveeno oat one, I wash my hands a lot at work, use alcohol gel and spend quite a lot of time outside and this is the only one that works well and is none sticky.

Clarins. Best hand cream ever. Non greasy. Lovely hands.

I love the Clarins one too but it's too pricey to take to work and have every man and his dog borrowing it. Only select people are allowed to see it in my bag!

L'occitane without a doubt. Get the hand scrub too.

My hands were disgusting. Now they are just a little bit rough, but I haven't been on this regime for long(!) another week and they wil be soft and smooth and beautiful

Thanks all, I'm going to head out to a large Boots and see what they have. I don't mind buying Clarins as long as it works.

May look at ordering L'occitane, kids are off and won't tolerate much shopping around!

Any idea where I might get some cotton gloves? I think that I need that I need intensive help!

Atrixo. Does the job, lovely scent and not expensive.

Neutrogena Norwegian here too.

Body shop hemp and l'occitane (forgot the name, it was a gift).

Another vote for Aveeno - I converted from Neutrogena to this.

But also, cream up a lot. Every time your hands have been in water, dry and put on cream. Not a huge amount, but every time. Believe me.

Ponds cocoa butter hand cream (not the neat cocoa butter which is a bit greasy.) Lovely chocolate and vanilla smell that DC like. It's the only one that seems to last properly even after your've washed your hands.

I find Body Shop hemp very greasy and makes my hands feel dirty. And the Neutrogena only lasts a few minutes then hands feel dry again.

Thanks again, I've ordered some gloves, some Clarins and some Aveeno.
I've used Body Shop Hemp before but didn't like it, too greasy and didn't like the smell.

Motherinferior, you're right about creaming more often, have got 2 tubes of Clarins (special offer on Amazon) and the Aveeno coming so am thinking 1 in my handbag, one by the kitchen sink and one in the bedroom.

Will try the others on the list if these don't work out, am happy to buy a few of the less expensive ones as I really need it all around me to remind me to use more.

Definitely suggest Aveeno, I just use the normal body lotion on my hands as well and it's good enough as a regular handcream, but if I have splits or cracks due hands having to do too much, I need Lotil cream. white and dark blue tub, sells it in Boots, stinks but works well.

I have Aveda which I adore as my hands (particularly cuticles) get horribly dry. I have also mixed a few drops of almond oil into it for extra softness.

Body Shop Hemp is the mutts nuts. Otherwise Avon do a glycerine one that's pretty good too.

Jurlique every time for sore chapped hands. All are lovely natural scents but the age repair one is the absolute best.
