Because the hair dresser today seemed in captures about my naturally coloured hair vs my age (36) vs about 2 grey hairs
Both my parents went grey in their 20s
I am not sure what has happened as I am stressed to the hilt, generally

I am sure it can't be that unusual. I am light brown/dark blonde

Saw my first grey at 29 and started dying at 35. I'm 43 now and dye it, but not at the full on grey roots stage yet. I have a sister who's eight years older and she still has no grey!Shock

First grey hairs at 29 but only worth dying at 38. I know someone who is 24 and has been dying away grey for several years. She has vitamin b12 deficiency, apparently.

47 and still not, I have a few greys (which really show in my long dark hair) but I pull them out.

First grey hair at 21, have been highlighting/dyeing since then (37 now)
My friend commented today that she has just found her first in her dark hair and she's 42!

But I was at school with a girl who went completely white at 12 - she used to dye it vv dark brown and then got white roots.

I've gone the other way - dyed my hair from the age of 15, stopped aged 40 cos I just CBA any more. Never really dyed it to cover grey, although by 38 or so I figured there must be grey under there anyway.

I'm just a bit sad that my hair's naturally mousey and will probably take years to be properly grey, and never be a good grey. I have a friend with properly white hair (similar age, 40s) and totally covet it.

I am 24 and I've had grey hairs coming through since I was about 15. I do have very dark hair though which I think makes them more noticable. I don't dye my hair at all, never have.

Weirdly some of the hair that was growing through grey has now changed back to dark. If I pull one out the top 3 or so inches from the root down is dark and the rest is grey, not sure why though.

30ish I think. Got worse the last couple of years - I am 41 now - and seem to have to do roots more often.

My mum on the other hand is 62 this year and has just found her 1st grey hair Shock

  1. Would definitely not be doing it if I didn't have to, my hair is in horrible condition now and used to be all silky and shiny. Sad

33 and still don't. My father didn't get more than the odd grey until his mid 40s and we have the same colouring. This seems to shock the odd hairdresser to be honest who tend to assume I dye even though I never have root regrowth Hmm

My Mum went grey at 21 Shock

To be honest OP, I'd enjoy it while you can. If you plan to colour, it can be extremely expensive unless you use home dyes (which are often messy and crap). Personally I am making the most of being one of the few out of my peers that doesn't dye. Having said that, I don't know how many colour because of greys - most seem to have started colouring in their teens and kept going!

  1. Found my first grey hair at 21 but for the next decade they were manageable with plucking. No longer!

I do use Lush henna on mine, to give the colour a little more oomph, but only do it about twice a year, wouldn't get away with that if it was to cover greys, I suspect when they start arriving in serious numbers I will just let it go, I really can't see me being dedicated enough to colour it regularly.
