A lip tint/stain that lasts

MTBMummy · 19/02/2014 19:06

I have no luck when it comes to lipstick, try as I might I cannot find one that stays on.

I really like lip tints and stains as they don't feel as claggy as lipstick, especially for just wearing day to day, but they all seem to fade to nothingness within an hour

Does anyone have one they can recommend that seems to last? I'm happy to pay for something that works

Thanks

Revlon lip crayons last well and they're only about £8

oooh you need YSL Vernis a Levres. It is fucking MIRACULOUS stuff.

I agree with Dave above - was just about to post the same. Much better than the Clinique Chubby Sticks - the Revlon ones last longer and are far cheaper!

Benefit benetints have too much staying power for me- you can't get the buggers off! The original one is a fairly dark pinky/red colour but I think they do other shades now.

No no no no no. YSL. Please try it at a counter. It's a game changing product, there is nothing else like it.

No 7 lip stains and lip lacquers. Really like both these products

Benefit Posietint - it's the pink version of Benetint..

Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream in liptick form Flipping amazing, my lips are so soft after use and it really does leave kissable lips. There are two tints available: pink or deep red which leave a hint of colour so perfect for daily use. Use a lipliner all over your lips before applying if you want a more intense shade for evening wear.

Stila lip and cheek stain - the pomegranate one is lovely, a "your lips only better" colour.

To everyone who is saying benetint, how do you get it to stay on? I find it's gone within half an hour of application...?

Maybelline Super Stay 10 hour tint gloss - this stuff is amazing. I need to take it off with clinique take the day off at the end of the day - it fades a little but it never comes off entirely. I have had strangers come up to me & ask what lipstick I am wearing. I wear the 540 Endless Ruby. This is a stain even though they call it a tint gloss - it's not a sticky gloss.

Oh bloody hell...
Why did I read this? I bought the YSL Vernis a Levres lip stain today at Boots. It cost £25.00. It is the first gloss that doesn't feel sticky and I've been wearing it since 7pm and its still on (not v. Glossy but the colour is still there) three and a quarter hours later. I'm very impressed!

rootypig - I blame you 100% for my spending! Thanks

now I have to find someone to blame for spending £65 in MAC Grin

The only ones that stay on me are Maybelline 24hr lip colour. Shame as not many of their shades suit me.

Went to a gig last night, got home at two a.m. Fell into bed, got up showered, dressed, did hair. Went downstairs to do face and last nights YSL lippy was stii in place.

Dawndonnaagain - how many layers did you put on? That's very impressive!

I only tried it out with two light layers and it lasted about 4 hours or so even after eating. I can still see a slight colour now but nothing major.

Can't wait to try it out properly today.

Dawn and Toofat what YSL colour did you get? I got 23 which goes on a pinky coral which is gorgeous but the stain is quite orange Sad. I love the feel of it though so looking for a better shade that stains pinker than 23 does.

I love the Benetint in the coral shade.

  1. I have olive skin and black hair though, so bright reds look okay on me.

Woo so glad someone listened to me! Because it ACTUALLY WORKS Grin

And makes me look better in photos, unlike any other make up product. I have 5 (night out) and 29 (perfect day neutral) I am hankering after a few more
