OK I am on the brink of buying one in the asos sale just because of mumsnet
i bought havianas on the strength of mumsnet and was thrilled with them
So, what is so good about these scarves? should I buy some for next xmas pressies, a couple of friends love their scarves

Yes, the wool/silk blend ones are the ones to go for. They're huge, light and have great designs. The cotton ones are ordinary and stars etc don't do much for me.

Just looked at the mix again of one of my scarves it's a cashmere and modal mix and not modal and silk. I love it.

DrNick Mon 17-Feb-14 13:21:04

Yes i got that too - tie dye?

HappyAsEyeAm Mon 17-Feb-14 10:57:25

I got a gorgeous silk/wool mix one in a green/black which was a cobwebby design for my MIL for her birthday. Down to about 25 on asos. I wanted to keep it for myself, but I did part with it. it was very lightweight, but ever so warm, and plumpable.

I have an eel skin granny purse that my friends all love and have bought for themselves. Also have an amazing silver leather zip purse that I bought for 80% off in the sales. It's quite a cool brand in Denmark.

They do handbags and purses too which look good.

Love the silk/wool ones, I bought six of them and worn them all winter. I won't be bothering with the cotton ones.

The prints are cute and you can often find them on sale for a bargain. Cotton are okay, but good quality so better than most high street shops if you get a good deal. I have several colours and patterns that I've collected over the years. The wool blend are amazing and huge! I recently bought a 100% wool scarf in almost the same size from another brand and it was so much thinner than my cosy Becksondergaard wool/silk mix.

I've got the wool silk mix too - should have said.

Was looking at cotton for a summer scarf - is it not worth it?

I love mine. Long, and keeps me warm. All the others I've bought previously seem flimsy and small now.

i gave two as xmas presents - the wool ones with hearts on. SO wanted to keep them,
they came in plastic. Dunno if they smelled, kept them in a drawer

DrNick Mon 17-Feb-14 08:20:48

scarves scarves
grin

you are making my red pen twitch

IDugUpADiamond Mon 17-Feb-14 08:12:27

I agree with everyone, the wool mix ones are simply lush. They look and feel amazing. The cotton ones are just run of the mill scarfs, nothing special really. In terms of buying scarfs now to give as gifts for Christmas, how can you ensure that they won't end up smelling? I always worry about this. Sometimes you put something away and a few months later the items have the smell of your house or worse still, a musty smell. Quite often you can't even tell but it will be obvious to the person you give it to.

Allthingsprettyreturns Mon 17-Feb-14 08:12:14

If they are in TK then there will probably be a thread on here for all the BS lovers

DrNick Mon 17-Feb-14 07:51:27

Agree. Tk maxx. But infrequently

bettykt Mon 17-Feb-14 07:48:08

Yy to Dr Nick and whereisshe the wool/silk blend ones are lovely. The cotton ones not to great. My cotton one is quite rough and a lot smaller than my wool/silk one and I hardly wear it.

Allthingsprettyreturns Mon 17-Feb-14 07:33:08

Look out at TK Maxx as they are often founf in there. I got a silk/modal mix one for less than thirty pound

Cherrypie32 Mon 17-Feb-14 07:23:41

Ok, that clears that up then thanks. I doubt I'll ever spend such money on a scarf but if I did I'd know what to look for grin

whereisshe Mon 17-Feb-14 05:11:43

What DrNick said - the cotton ones aren't that special, the wool / silk blend ones are gorgeous (soft, warm, stylish blankies grin )...

I love mine because they are huge. It's the reason I like Warehouse scarves (although they aren't as big.)
