Has anyone actually radically changed their body?

Have you gone from being a bit flabby and wobbly to having a body that is "fit"?

I kind of feel resigned to having a slim but wobbly body but would love to hear real life stories of people who have actually turned it around and ended up with a fab body

hehe yes, did think that hmmmmmmmmmmmmIf I could just stop eating and maybe do some exercise it would be a help

My colleague at work was a size 18 when I met her 4 years ago. She is now a gorgeous size 12. She did it with diet and lots of excercise. She did a spin class 3 times a week and the weight fell off. She is like a different person now physically and mentally.

Yes.
Years ago, I was flabby and unfit and joined the police (don't ask me how I managed to pass the fitness test - think that was a bit of a minor miracle) Twelve weeks at police college changed me into a slim, fit, fighting (only joking about that bit machine. It was worth it, but God was it hard work.

I did when I was in my late twenties (no kids mind you). I wasn't overweight but I wanted to be more honed. Step classes 4 days a week, weight training on the other 3 days. I looked amazing after about 4 months - tiny waist, honed slim thighs, v neat bum and kept my considerable boobs.

Makes me exhausted just thinking about it .

Seriously, if you are slim I bet you would tone reallyquickly with exercise. In between having ds2 and ds3 I swam every morning at 7am (not at weekends though) and was very toned. IMO swimming is the easiest thing to do ina short time to tone the whole body. Must get back to it myself!

gdk is right - the key is regular exercise. I've been going to the gym mostly 3 sessions a week for a year now (lost tons of weight and definitely needed to tone up) and the difference is marked - I had cellulite before on upper thighs, now don't have any and am a dress size smaller than when I was at my current weight without regular exercise.

It's getting back into the rhythm of regular exercise that I find hard. After a fornight hols a few weeks ago, I sooooooooo didn't want to get my arse back down to that gym, but once I was in there I felt heaps better after a couple of days.

I know, I usually go at 7am so I just get out bed, throw costume and clothes on and go. THen i can shower etc in peace too! Might go tomorrow if I can my bag sorted tonight!

A friend of mine turned up looking wildly fit after she took up climbing. I think it's the toned arms that did it.

It is a women's only gym . 30 minutes 3 times a week exercise plus diet advice , apparently. Wondered if it worked and how disciplined you'd need to be ! here

Oooh, but the owner is a mad anti-abortionist right-wing American weirdo.

I recommend running, pilates and tae bo. I was in better shape post DS1 than pre. And am probably in better shape now (and am certainly lighter) than pre-pregnancy.

Seagulls - I lost about 7 stone doing the GI Diet, which basically removes any processed food from the diet. I'd have porridge for breakfast, probably soup for lunch (veggie type, maybe with pasta in it or pearl barley, homemade) and then dinner would be something like fish, vegetables and new potatoes. Once I had lost a substantial amount of weight, I joined the gym.

However, my weight lost did stall at the beginning of this year and I stayed the same for months which was ok as I wasn't putting weight on, but I wanted to lose another 20lbs. So, I joined weight watchers a month ago and have started losing again (half a stone so far). I do the "No Count" plan which means I can follow GI principles - I think I needed the discipline of a weekly weight in to help me with this last stubborn bit of weight.

A few years ago I went from a size 14-16 to a toned 8-10, and it was definitely exercise that did it. The things I found most effective were fast uphill walking, rowing and swimming (but only swimming fast, for at least 1/2 hour, very regularly).

Sadly I'm a lot plumper again now, the result of pregnancy, marriage and a sedentary lifestyle.

How long did it take you Mazzy? I'm looking for the lean/toned look by crimbo, got loads of hills where I live and I enjoy walking so that could be a goer for me.
