What do you call your underwear?

We say pants, for boys' and girls', but confusingly I find myself calling ds's "pantie pants" just because everything ends up having an "ie" on the end of it.

Do you wear pants, or knickers? Or something else?

Pants for the boys
Knickers(knick knicks by dd1!) for girls.

DH - boxers (but I sometimes call them underpants to annoy him)
me - knickeres
DS - pants
DD - pants, sometimes knickers

Generically we might use pants for anybody.

I wear knickers
the boys wear pants

DS1 thinks bras are called knickers though so gets confusing.

"Generically we might use pants for anybody."

is making me larf for some reason

did you mean to put "knickeres", Bozza? I doubt it which is a shame. It sounds very flamboyant.

I am hoping to uncover a new MN word for pants along the lines of "norks" or "fanjo", tbh. However so far I am just relieved you are not all saying "fanny wrappers" or something.

No I didn't mean to put the extra 'e' - obviously a combination of a day out in the sun and a couple of glasses of wine is taking its toll.

By the generic thing - I meant if I had a basketful of mixed underwear I would just say "it's pants and socks" - or if we were going somewhere "we need to take clean pants", that sort of thing.

Everyone here wears pants. Except DD (who wears a nappy )

dd and I wear knickers, dh wears boxers or shorts (ds still wears nappies).

dh gets confused because he still sometimes says pants to mean trousers.

PC - even ds3 calls his nappy 'pants' - he wears pull ups

Well we are all quite dull aren't we? A rogue 'e' has added the only frisson of excitement so far

Actually, DS's night time pants are pullups (but they wouldn't be called nappies ).

DD is a little young to be calling her nappies anything just yet .
