Tall hold-me-in swimsuit?

Sqveeze · 09/02/2014 20:13

I'm not actually that tall, only 5ft 7, but swimsuits always seem to be short in the body. I'm a size 12 but have a horribly jiggly mummy-tummy. Can anyone recommend a swimsuit?

I am six ft and find Primark ones well cut and long enough!

Although not always the most stylish, BHS have always done longer length and tummy holding in ones.

I have had some brilliant ones from Debenhams in the past - I am 5'8" btw. I have to have the ones with the tummy panel post-DD!

just bought the 'magic' swimsuit from Tesco. flattened my very big wobbly baby belly and made me look slimmer ...which I didn't think would be possible. very comfy too. Smile

Gah! This is impossible. Bhs don't seem to do tall swimsuits now, and anywhere that does tends to just stock hideously expensive granny styles.

Try Land's End on-line or catalogue. Pretty sure they do different torso lengths.

Lands End have a couple of really nice ones, but £80-£100 for a swimsuit is ridiculous! Cannot bring myself to spend that.

I'm 5ft 10 and long bodied and have two of these ones;
www.forluna.co.uk/

They're not the cheapest but are so ridiculously flattering, they're the only swimsuits I've ever worn and felt 100% comfortable in. Great customer service too :)

Don't buy from Long Tall Sally.
I bought one last year and it has gone saggy.
Horrible.

Forluna swimsuits are gorgeous, absolutely love them. I've just trawled through and they don't do a longer length.

I went to m&s today, and have now worked out I need a 14 long - the 12 just wasn't containing my 32FFs! Unfortunately they didn't actually have any 14 longs so I still don't have a swimsuit. Everything on the website is sold out too. Ah well, at least I'm getting closer!

I am 6ft and have spent an age trying to find a swimsuit - ideally I would like a proper sporty one from Speedo as I swim regularly. I am still looking for one that fits and flatters, but in the meantime have settled for this boring one from Zoggs which does the job, and is long in the body. It is not perfect, I wouldn't wear it to the beach, but at least it doesn't ride up and is decent quick dry material.
Agree that LTS ones are crap - the material is really poor and loses shape as soon as you get in the water.
I used to have a long length Seaspray one a few years ago that was brilliant but can't find anyone selling them anymore.

I'm tall and always prefer a tankini - which you can get with control tops too. Such as this - but loads available on google

I have a CSx2 tummy so am not very streamlined and worry that my muffin-roll would spill out between the top and bottoms of a tankini. Hence the requirement for full tum coverage. Although I wonder if you can get tankinis with long tops?

Have just bought a nice navy & white striped on with tummy-disuise ruched bit in Primark for £16 I think. I am a size 12 & 5 ft 9 & the fit is fine.

Land's End long fit control swimsuits are fantastic although pricey (well, pricey for me and my cheapskate ways) -- unfortunately they don't tend to stock them at this time of year (and are low in stock/limited sizes only on all their swimwear, in fact).

You might find one on eBay, though -- or the M&S 14 longs on eBay, in fact.

Sparklegeek, can I ask if you have big boobs?! I think it might be easier to get away with shorter length if you have less chest.

I have the same fear about tankinis Shirleysharpeyes - visions of unsightly lumpy muffin top spilling out - ugh.

M&S one 14L left

M&S some 14L left here

I think the long length sell out really quickly. I take size 14L and have got a M&S one. I have also had some from BHS but I think you can only buy them there when they have all their beachwear in.

Another vote for Zoggs. I can't see it on the site, but mine is a halter neck style. The good thing is it also has sticky lining, like a strapless bra has, round the bust and inbuilt support. First swimsuit that I have ever had that doesn't end up stuck up my arse Grin

Forluna don't do a specific long body but they do come up long... I'm 5'10 and have a longer body proportionally than legs iyswim and they're fab :)
