Made in the same factory as Chanel my arse...

Bourjois nail varnish. Base coat, two thin coats and topcoat and it STILL didn't make it to lunchtime.

It's not made in the same factory as Chanel, it's made by chimps, out of sand and tippex.

thats a huge myth respouted all the time

Chanel is shit though so that proves nothing. I love the colors but as far as staying power they are some of the worst nail polishes I own. Bourjois are much better IMO.

This reminds me of a 'fashion show' I went to in the village hall. Lots of the garments were made in the Chanel factory, apparently. Even the crimplene slacks Hmm

I'm not a huge wearer of nail varnish, but I did the mistake of thinking that because its chanel, it,must be something,it turned out to be a huge waste of money ,butter nail varnish are the best I tried.

Last week I bought 3 bourjois foundations (boots offer) having seen them on here with everyone saying they were just like Chanel etc etc. Well.... they are totally utterly shit. I can only presume that the posters recommending it have never tried a Chanel one? (And actually, the real Chanel ones are not all that either, and the eyeshadows are streaky crap). And I agree OP, the nailpolishes are like water.

Agree Chanel make pisspoor nail varnish. I find Rimmel as good as any!

Just because it's allegedly made in the same factory means diddly squat.

I'm guessing that most cosmetics factories have mixers that mix and squirters that squirt or dollop or pack down the make up into its packaging and that The equipment used to make the make up doesn't make a huge difference to the quality of the product, assuming you're talking about a range that is reasonable quality (safety wise) to be sold in the uk.

You'll note they've never claimed that it's made out of the same ingredients and/or to the same recipe as Chanel equivalents. That's way more important than them using the same factory!

Agree with all, Chanel nail polishes are not great quality, nor in fact are Nail Inc. My fave brand is Avon Pro wear +, although the number of days it lasts depends on the colour.

I get pretty good wear out of my rouge noir, TBF. I think the bourjois colours are good, very Chanel-like, but just shit staying power.

I might give Butter a go, then. Love their colours.

Chanel nail polish is rubbish. I've got the rouge noir because I love the colour but it has no staying power whatsoever. Worst nail polish I've ever had so I reckon they probably are made in the same factory as bourgeois Wink

Even if it's made in the same factory, a price per unit will have been specified by Bourgeois which being lower than Chanel, will have resulted in a less expensive mix of ingredients.

I dunno though I'd say there isnt much in some product ingredients.I think packaging and paying for slebs in their ad campigns adds at more.
I like the foundation its nicer than the MAC and clinique I was using before.

Chanel is one of the worst nail varnishes I have ever owned.

Another here who can attest that Chanel nail varnish is rubbish. I bought a pinky/nude and it just went on streaky and uneven. V upset at the outlay. Barry m's and OPI are pretty good.

It's not a myth - they are made by the same parent company. In fact chanel make up is owned by bourjois. (I used to work for chanel and was trained at their make up headquarters in London bond street).

However - their nail polishes are sometimes brought in from other manufacturers, hence the quality being more hit and miss.

I've got a few new Chanel colours and they usually last about 5 days without chipping at all. I always use a base, 2 coats of colour & a top coat. Essie have great colours and you can get them at Boots now.

I got a Calvin Klein varnish for £1.99 in b&m a couple of weeks ago & it's been on my toes with no chips for over a week. Nice coral tomato red colour too.

One product bring made in the same factory as another dies not mean that they are frontage same production line. Or that they are made to the same standard, use the same ingredients or are subject to the same quality control. Just that they are made in the same building.

Another agreeing that Chanel nail polishes are rubbish. It took a long time & a lot of money to make me face up to this reality.

I have some OPI in similar colours to my fave Chanel ones and the OPI lasts better. I never get a full week though, even with base coat and top coat.

And even if they start out good, I find the quality quickly deteriorates the minute air hits it. Even storing in the fridge makes little difference.

Keep the cheapie recommendations coming Smile
