Just been reading the other thread and thought I'd better start my own.

I've been wearing Flowerbomb, which is quite sweet, but am looking for something more suitable for work during the day now I've run out. I do like sweet, but not too sickly, but as mentioned it must be suitable for work. Previous perfumes I've used included Armani Mania, A Touch Of Pink, Gaultier classique, and Very Irresistible.

Smile

Marc Jacobs Lola is quite sweet but not overbearing and fades to a nice musky/vanilla scent.

If you like strong perfumes like Flowerbomb though, have you tried Agent Provocateur perfumes? I have three and they're all pretty distinctive and long lasting.

Thanks, I'll take a look at Lola.

The problem with Flower Bomb is I think it's TOO strong for the office, so I'm trying to find something not quite as intense.

How about giving Thierry Mugler Angel and Alien a sniff?

Maybe Alien is more 'grown up' but Angel is sweet without being sickly.

I recently discovered Isis. I love it for daily wear

please don't inflict Angel on your co-workers!!
Kiehls have a lovely range of new perfumes - www.kiehls.co.uk/body/by-category/fragrance/aromatic-blends-gift-set

the vanilla one is nice and warm and the nashi one is quite sweet but also fresh.
If you can get over the celebrity endorsement - Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely is also slightly sweet but floral and fresh.

What about:
Ghost Sweetheart
or
Nina Ricci's L'Air du Temps
or
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.
I rotate these 3 regularly for office wear.

Angel is a big MN no-no but I smell it on my friend and it's smells lovely on her.

"Angel" in the office is the equivalent of the TErminator: you can run from it, but you just can't hide.

Actually lol at someone posting to say that she'd like recommendations for something more office-friendly than "FlowerBomb" and being recommended "Angel".

Have you ever been in a confined space with someone wearing "Angel"?

I think you'd have to like it a lot - or 3 months and you'll be fantasising about poisoning her tea.

OK. Jo Malone specialises in office-friendly perfumes, and has a lot of florals. Likewise Estee Lauder. Marc Jacobs "Daisy", and Stella's "Stella" are likewise office-friendly. I'd suggest going to Space NK and trying out what they carry for a good selection. Nicky Kinaird has great taste, and she (and I guess her buyers) pre-select. Antonia Flowers "Floret" is a lovely, discreet, and unusual floral.

Well yes, quite right I presume. I couldn't wear it myself as sweet smells make me feel sick. Beautiful is one of the worst ones.

I would stick to clean smells like Pure.

I just don't seem to suit sharp scents, so would like to find something that is a little on the sweet side, but not overpowering. I work customer facing too.

Armani Si! I just got it for Christmas and cannot get enough of it, it is beautiful, I don't know how to describe it but it just smells beautiful and classy. Not overpowering and warm :) I'll try to find a review!

What can I say? I can get away with Angel and do try Alien anyway.

Okey dokey, now you've said more try Chergui by Serge Lutens. It IS a sweet one, but is unisex so is cut through with flowers, woods and tobacco.

Try a sample first because it doesn't come out very sweet at all on me, but it does on other people.

Also: Un Bois Vanille

Brilliant thanks Smile The only place I can get to at the moment is Boots, I'll drop in there after work tomorrow and try some of the suggestions.

I wear Do Son by Diptyque every day, and I'm always getting compliments about it. Smile

It's quite intense but not overpowering, floral but not particularly sweet - jasmine and tubereuse.

Vera Wang princess might be worth a sniff? I have Angel and I do still like it although only wear it occasionally now.

I currently wear Jimmy Choo Flash which is similar but less heady I think.

SJP Lovely is well worth a try too I agree!

The Ghost perfumes are also nice and some good deals on gift sets in Boots..

I'm sorry if I came across as mean about "Angel". It's marvellous in its way, and has wonderful sillage. I'm just of a type that thinks great sillage should be kept for times when you're out and about, and people who don't appreciate your scent are able to move away.

It is indeed delicious and sweet and so on. I really don't like dissing anyone else's likes and dislikes.

Hope you have a lovely time sniffing things, OP. And I'm thinking you might like the new Hermes fragrance ("Jour d'Hermes"???) which is a discreet white floral, which sounds quite blah, but it really isn't when you smell it.

Thanks, more lovely scents to try!

I know it's difficult, because everyone has different taste in perfume. I appreciate every recommendation. Smile

For years I had barely any sense of smell, these days I have sense of smell about 50% of the time and enjoy wearing great perfumes. Unfortunately my budget is very low at the moment, but I will try them all bit by bit in Boots and let you know what I decide on.
