Need some motivation, diet starts tomorrow and general overhaul too - going away for Xmas and would like to feel a bit more glam this year! Xx

CareerGirl01 Sun 01-Dec-13 20:46:27

Good luck. Had DD2 in May and would love to glam up. I'm managing to exercise but breastfeeding so dieting is a no no. Are you doing any yoga?!

LakeFlyPie Sun 01-Dec-13 21:37:45

Yes, I really need to.
Plan to start a food diary tomorrow morning which usually helps me to eat more sensibly and healthily. Am going to make a fruit salad this evening so it's there to be dipped into instead of the cake tin
I henna-ed my hair last week so greys are less noticeable and am booked to have my eyebrows threaded on wednesday. I may even get brave and ask her to do my tache too although I fear that counts as TMI rather than getting glam grin

Thanks for this thread, I really hope it strengthens my resolve by typing it here.

What are your plans food and glam wise OP?

LakeFlyPie Sun 01-Dec-13 21:39:42

What exercise are you doing CareerGirl?
I keep having passing thoughts about jogging around the nearby park with DS (5) accompanying on his bike, which he would love, but have failed to do anything about it yet.

I need to slim down and glam up. Eyebrows need done, hair needs dyed and nails could do with some tlc.

It's sooo hard to slim down at this time of year. If I don't do something now, by the time I have had all the festive food, my festive cheer will be massive!grin

Yes, I'll join you!

Nothing special planned for Christmas Eve but I'm eating a silly amount of chocolate (It's everywhere! I go into Smiths to buy a newspaper and come out clutching a giant Orange Aero bar because the assistant pointed out it was only £1.00), drinking flavoured lattes like they're water and I pretty much mainlined Stollen all weekend. Now, despite not being hungry, I've eaten seven rich tea biscuits at 43 calories each. Bit of a sugar/sweet food addiction setting in I think.

How are you measuring your slimming down? On the scales or going on how your clothes feel?

TinyPawz Sun 01-Dec-13 22:12:49

Me too ladies, I've been threatening to dig out the shred DVD, so will do that tomorrow evening.

Need to cut down on the chocolate/bread/general crap food.

Ruprekt Sun 01-Dec-13 22:16:07

Ok girls.....you can do this but you have to be strict.

Low carb is fabulous but you have to cut out ALL sugar including fruit.

No grains or wheat or pasta or crap.

Scrambled eggs cooked in butter with bacon for breakfast.

Broccoli and blue cheese soup for lunch

Pork chops with mashed swede and broccoli for dinner.

Drink 2 litres water.

Get hair and nails and eyebrows booked now.

Exfoliate body and moisturise.

Walk instead of driving.

Me too. Been unwell for about a month and piled some weight on, would love to lose some of it, not all of it by the big day.

Valdeeves Sun 01-Dec-13 22:33:00

It was my hubby's bday today so we've been for pizza then had mulled wine and mince pies for tea. It's my last day of gluttony!
I'm doing low carb as I just can't lose weight any other way. My aim is to lose 3/4 of a stone before Xmas but we'll see!
Also plan to run at least once a week to help.
I also plan to drink a least a couple of litres of water a day as it just makes an amazing dfference to your skin.
Feeling a right old frumpy mum at the mo, hair a nightmare so booked in at hairdressers to sort it out!
Anybody seen any fab budget Xmas clothes? Jumpers or knit dresses?

Valdeeves Sun 01-Dec-13 22:47:59

*waves at Ruprekt
Remember me from January low carb??

Old bag, I might weight myself this time but def going on clothes. I keep doing the flavoured lattes too - so much sugar!!

Ruprekt Sun 01-Dec-13 23:10:40

Hello Val! smilesmile

We need to convert this lot to low carb asap! smilesmile

ijustwanttobeme Sun 01-Dec-13 23:18:24

Please count me in

Will try low carbing, as lost lbs a few years ago- works best for me

No grains or wheat or pasta either, as I can never ever limit myself to one slice/ handful of...see above...

Scrambled eggs cooked in butter with bacon for breakfast. That I can do easily smile

Can I have an Ainsley packet soup for lunch( will be at work, with only a kettle)- no microwave available to reheat homemade soup.

Pork chops/ chicken/ salmon with broccoli ( remind me please what other low carb veges I can eat) for dinner.

Drink 2 litres water. Adding low cal hi juice is ok though right?

Weighed myself just now, so will check progress 8, 15 and 22 December. Could do with losing 8/10 lbs.

Already had hair booked for Wednesday, will get brows and tache done this week too. Nails need tidying ( took ages to recover from Shellac, so keeping short and no varnish at all for now).

Valdeeves Sun 01-Dec-13 23:19:23

I think even high juice is out

timidviper Sun 01-Dec-13 23:22:22

I'll join you. I have been low carbing for a while and am still on the bootcamp threads so diet is not too bad but need to start more exercise, drink more water and make more effort with the skin, hair and clothes.

I've been promising myself a home facial for about 2 weeks and not got round to it yet

Valdeeves Sun 01-Dec-13 23:27:42

The key is to a avoid sugar and anything that tastes sweet.

ijustwanttobeme Sun 01-Dec-13 23:30:57

Ok, so no squash to the water.

Is it mostly green veges that are carb free?

Ruprekt Sun 01-Dec-13 23:32:29

No high juice or coke!

Broccoli
Cauliflower cheese
Celeriac
Swede
Mushrooms
Spinach
Cucumber
Lettuce
Cabbage
Are all good.

Full fat yoghurt

Valdeeves Sun 01-Dec-13 23:44:25

Hi timid, I remember you from low carb too - lets all try and keep a log going.
My tip here is coconut oil, read it on another thread - makes am amazing budget hair mask!

DharmaBums Sun 01-Dec-13 23:55:05

I'm in too! Could do with kick-starting the 2 stone of baby weight and would like to look halfway decent by Christmas. Also let my hair, waxing, nails and feet go a little bit so they could go with tlc too! Generally a bit of a mess! hmm

Ruprekt Mon 02-Dec-13 07:49:19

Everyone......go and have a large glass of water now. smile

ijustwanttobeme Mon 02-Dec-13 12:25:32

Scrambled egg for brekkie

Two large glasses of water so far - another one now thanks Ruprekt smile

Broccoli and Stilton cup a soup ( so had to cheat slightly)

Chicken and veges tonight, after 40 minute workout.

Asking very quietly, but are there any low carb snacks I can have?

Quick question to low carbers - honestly, do you miss bread? I can't imagine eating scrambled eggs without a slice or two of toast. I don't think I'd have the willpower to cut out whole food groups.

I'm going to follow the Weight Watchers pro-points plan to the letter! Have my tracker on the fridge and will stick to 26 PPs a day.

Anyone else here following WW?

Ruprekt Mon 02-Dec-13 16:33:56

Low carb snacks:

Babybel
Pepperami
Celery with full fat cream cheese
Pork scratchings
Olives
Tinned artichokes

I often make myself a mezze of lc goodies to eat while watching tv. Glass of sparkling water....very posh!

And no, once you get into it and see the results you do not miss bread! smilesmile
