I've been hearing good things about bare minerals lately and wondered if you've used anything from the range that has really worked.

I have had a concealer, brightener, mascara and lipgloss recommended :-)

Mineral veil and Warmth. The eyeshadows are excellent as are the brushes.

I;m not a foundation wearer IRL but I bought a kit from QVC a while back.

IIRC I got the Medium Beige (they recommend this as a shade for my skin/hair but TBH I should've gone a bit lighter)

It does take a bit of practice first- mainly to not overdo it and make sure you buff enough.
Sing "Happy Birthday to You" the whole song TWICE and that's how long to buff for.

I haven't used the Mineral Veil (got a tiny pot) but the concealer (tiny pot) is nice.
The Primer looks a bit but it goes on very sheer.

I think places like Debenhams stock more colour choices. You could go there to see the colours IRL.

I manage to get the concealer onto my teen DS if he has a real belisha beacon of a spot.
It blends away to invisible edges but covers really well.

He goes from "Mum I'm not wearing make-up" to "Oh that looks ok"

I found it doesn't suit a mature skin. Went back to liquid make up and really some people overdo the mineral make up and look horrible, like a mannequin. If you are young enough and apply it properly then I am sure it's fine.

I use the ready foundation and blusher, used to use the original foundation but found it showed up dry patches, ready is a million times better and less messy

the new cream concealer is fantastic (and I have tried loads)

I dont like mineral veil or warmth, love pure radiance

It's a good idea to test out samples of the mineral foundation before buying full sizes. I bought a starter kit for about £50, and realised about a month later that my skin reacts badly to an ingredient in it. I came out in a red itchy rash when I had it on while out for a run.

I'm not keen on the lipsticks. It was fine when I bought it but six months on its dried out badly. The loose powder foundation is ok.

I have just bought some and am not very impressed. On qvc they make a point of showing you how it completely covers rosacea etc. I have a small age patch on my cheek. It covers it not one jot. I've tried all the methods they suggest, plus their concealer. It's still there, just a bit dusty looking. Am I the only one that finds this?

powder concealer/corrector can only work if you have oily skin, cream is better, especially round the eyes

Mrs-is it the powder concealer? I've used it for year on rocasea and its amazing, it just disappears. Are you using the bm concealer brush?

This brand is so good I haven't used much else for about 7 years. Just about the only product I wasn't that impressed with was the mascara.

It's worth watching the DVDs re. application and it's money well spent using their own brushes, as they are superb for the job.

These are my favourite products:

Primer
Foundation
Radiance (love tropical radiance with a tan, but haven't been able to get that for a while)
Concealer
Blusher
Eye Shadows
Eyeliner pencil (the best I've ever used in 30 odd years)

I've tried a few different shades of mineral veil and I'm not fussed about it, but would use it if in a set.

Similarly, the lip glosses are good, but about as good as other brands in the same price range, whereas the products I've listed are IMO, better than any others on the market.

I've got an 'older skin' but I've found it really suits my skin type. The secret is in getting the colour match right, blending for longer than you think you have to and using their brushes.

I forgot about the primer!! I love that too. I have very dry skin and find that if I don't moisturise well and then use the primer, my dry patches can show up.

I switched to it about 3 years ago as it cleared up my skin after years of suffering with spots, I think it is fab. It is easy to apply and I don't get tide marks which I found I sometimes did when I did my make up in a rush with liquid make up. I use the medium beige foundation, mineral veil, eye shadows, warmth and all their brushes. I adore it.

Cataline - if you like the primer then may I suggest you try Lanacance anti chaff gel? Don't laugh but it has the same ingredients as the mega expensive smashox one but is a fiver instead! I find it superior to the BM one as well as a lot cheaper. I have the same dry skin problem :)

I never used the primer (I don't use anything with silicone) and still had a good effect with the loose foundation, with the ready it's as if you need it even less

I use the lanacane as a primer too it works really well, i read it online and it is exactly the same as the smashbox one

Yep, I use the powder concealer and the BM brush.

I don't rate their foundation stuff but just popped in to recommend their Marvelous Moxie lipsticks.

I am in love with them and have bought 5 a few. Amazing shades and pigmentation and staying power And they taste like chocolate

It's best to go to Debenhams to be colour matched & to have the foundation applied so you can see how it feels/looks. If you like it keep an eye on Feelunique.com. They often have really good value sets - especially when they have a discount code & you go through topcashback. I go through phases of using their foundation, but I don't think much of their foundation brushes - too scratchy. I prefer my MAC one.

I've used it for just over 2 years (recommended by beauty therapist as the only make up to wear following caci/crystal clear facials to give skin a good rest/breather post treatment). I was previously an avid ELDW user. It took me ages to get used to minerals. I felt it didnt give adequate coverage and left me shiny. I now use the Matt version and always use Veil but really feel the trick is to apply it properly and buff like mad to get proper coverage. I really like it and dont feel plastered in foundation but well covered.

I buy from e bay, great deals on there but agree with going to debenhams first to be down how to apply.
