Style and beauty

Ok, I know we all love a good M&S bashing thread but I think they have really excelled themselves with this coat...

Shock It's just awful! The model looks embarrassed.

DH is staring at me as I'm making a honking noise and have tea coming down my nose (classy chick). There ought to be some sort of warning on the website.

How can they make a beautiful woman look...wonky?

Horrific and the models expression is priceless.

At £189 you wouldn't even buy it for a fancy dress party - I'm thinking medieval rat catcher.

And it's £189!

There's another thread kicking around somewhere about this most magnificent coat. I think it was called something like 'how to look like a beaver' or something.

They really have excelled themselves,

Yep, I am not sure that any amount of money would make me want to model that Wink

I came on to this thread to defend them, as I've picked up some really nice stuff very recently - but actually, that coat is truly, magnificently shit! Who ever thought that would be a good idea?! Grin

I have also noticed, though, that the website seems to have an uncanny knack of making anything that they sell look atrocious.

Are their designers drunk when they think 'hmm, this will fly off the shelves, and make us lots of money'??

Seriously, who designs this crap??

It looks as if it was made by fur and leather fetishists.

I think her head was photoshopped on afterwards - I don't think they would be able to persuade anyone to wear that and let them photograph them.

I can just see that hanging in the South African house from yesterday not on a hook, just as a trophy.

It's like something from Narnia, some sort of womanstoat homunculus.

I was in M&S yesterday and thought of MN as I actually found some things I liked!
(Jumpers and, dreadful word, jeggings in the Indigo section)

Why would you think that jerkin (medieval, indeed!) would make anyone look wonderful?

It's as though they commission/design all the good stuff in one go fuelled by caffeine.. Instead of stopping, recovering, resting and starting again, they plough on regardless through the night adding a cocktail of drugs to keep them going, and then collapse, waking hours later, lifting their drooling faces from their desks in horror but unable to cancel the monstrosities they have created. Earthymama - I think you have got it there, only someone on drugs would ever create something so ugly!!!

I do have some reasonable stuff from M&S but is so difficult to find the gems amongst all the shit!!

That's a coat for an aging rockstar's wife. I can see Jo Wood wearing it, or maybe Trinny.
