Is anyone else looking forward to winter or is it just me....

I love it when the weather gets cooler and Autumn starts because it means I can finally wear my fave items like chunky knit jumpers and cardys with opaque tights and boots!
Most people think I mad because they love the summer weather and clothes that go with it!
Anyone else share my strange view!

I can't say I look forward to winter but I've always loved Autumn. I love knee-high boots, scarves and sweater dresses. Bonfire night is my favourite night of the year - I love it more than xmas. Must be the pyromaniac in me! Grin

I am :)

I have lots of wooly tights, cardis and short jersey/wool dresses that I alternate between.

Much comfier than jeans, no annoying cold back when your t-shirt rides up, and lots less thinking about what goes with what.

I most definitely am not. I loathe the cold weather, having to wear loads of layers to keep warm and taking ages to get togged up to venture outside. I am not a winter loving person.

I had a depressing wander around the local shopping mall today and didn't see any clothes that I liked. They were so dismal, mostly black or other dull and dismal colours.

I hate the long dark nights and low light levels. Crisp, sunny days are not the norm where I live - it is generally dank, dim and dismal.

I can't wait for spring.

I love the cold weather. Coats and boots are my favourite wardrobe items

Winter bliss! Felt super-confident the other day in snakeskin boots, black trousers and charcoal knee-length cashmere rather than sliding along in a pool of sweat (regularly gets to mid-30s here). Today I wore tights and it didn't matter that I had stubbly legs underneath. Bring it on! Grin

I love the idea of summer dresses, shorts etc but look much better in winter layers.

Love summer if I'm on the beach, not so much sweltering at work.
Wooly knits, coats, boots, all good.

What's not to love?
Wearing knitwear rather than a -T-shirt and shorts or cool summer dress
Layering - so I can't move freely
Cable knits - meh
Knee high boots - they are OK but I would rather wear a pair of sandals
Gorgeous colours - where? All the ones I saw today were depressing and sludgy or black
Christmas - don't really like it
Snuggly nights - I can get them all year round

I love winter and getting excited about the dark nights! Love thick tights, boots, fake fur etc.

Apparently you're meant to like the season you were born in the most, theory works for me as I'm a Christmas baby.

Utter bollocks. I was born in November. I hate being cooped up indoors for days on end when the weather is bad. I hate being stuck inside even more when the sun is shining.

I dare you to post on the thread about people not being able to afford to heat the house and say how much you love winter - evil grin!

I love winter! Ditto cable knit jumpers etc, roaring fires and all that shit. And fricking Christmas! I think I have an inner Val Doonican.

I really really really hate it too. I detest having to wear coats and layers and have absolutely loved this nice summer, lots of dresses, cotton trousers and vest tops with fab accessories and lovely sandals and flip flops to show off a pretty pedi.

I'd adore summer clothes if I had a different body Grin

One with tanned, slim, hairless legs and arms would be a good start...

That said, I do hate the sweatiness of a really hot summer anyway - but if I had the thin tanned limbs I'd probably cope.

I loathe winter, can't stand it. I get depressed by the lack of sun and heat and I feel the cold terribly. Constantly ill children, cooped up indoors, having to put on layers and layers before leaving the house, yuck!

This summer was bliss. I love love love being able to wear sandals with bare arms and legs every day, no need to put on layers. The occasional too-hot day was a small price to pay.

In a previous life I was probably from the Mediterranean.

I like the summer too - just I like the fact that we have seasons and each has something different to offer and the opportunity for a new wardrobe

Lizzy Please don't be so self conscious about yourself. Baggy, shapeless clothes aren't any more flattering than summer clothes on anyone who thinks they are overweight. Besides, there are plenty of summer clothes that aren't revealing or skimpy.

I like the fact that in summer I only need to wear three garments and a pair of sandals and I am dressed - bra, pants, dress - done.

Today I wore bra, pants, socks, trousers, T-shirt, jumper, shoes and a coat, plus boots.

I FAR prefer autumn / winter clothes to summer clothes. I've been like a child in a sweet shop the last couple of weeks, it's been wonderful getting out my knits and tights and choosing what to wear. I have never really got the hang of summer dressing and always feel lumpen and drab and harassed when it's warm out.

I love wool, and cashmere, and velvet (sorry, I realise velvet is a S&B no-no but I DON'T CARE Grin ) and leather and suede.

Bunbaker - aw thank you, but I'm really not unnecessarily self-conscious! I wear fitted clothes in both winter and summer (ones that I can get to fit in the right places, which can be tricky). What I can't do is bare much flesh above the ankle as it's too pasty and puddingy, so usually end up with leggings and a dress and sandals/flip flops which is okay, but it's harder to look smart, plus you get dirtier feet!

After coming down with a cold and getting soaked in the rain waiting for a bus today, I've gone off the idea of winter all together.

I'm planning to buy some really nice, luxurious boots, skirts, knits and seasonally themed candles etc as an inoculation against the misery but it never quite works!
