Sexy, vintage gothic/alternative style clothes....corset maybe. Any suggestions?

Hello! Smile

Ok, so I'm going out with some friends and gf next weekend, but we usually end going to quite alternative bars and clubs, which I like. The only problem is, I never feel like I'm wearing the 'right' clothes. Usually I'm not really bothered, but this time, I really fancy going all out and wearing something more fitting.

I've actually always loved the vintage gothic style before, but never knew where to shop for it. I don't like the ott, all black and lace or pvc look, but I'd like something sexy and subtle.

I'm 5ft 8" and a size 10. I have very long dark hair and pale skin, so I'm half way there Grin

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks.

If your budget will stretch to it, I'd suggest trying Kates Clothing, they have some really nice fairly classy gothy stuff. I'd really stress that if you actually want a proper corset, as in a steel boned one, please please get measured properly for one, don't just mail order one. They can really hurt you if they are sized too tight for your body. That aside, there are plenty of websites, like Kates Clothing, Drac in a box (very expensive but some lovely lovely things), Lip Service, Rocky Horrors etc that would have cheaper plastic boned ones suitable for casual wear.

My budget?....Hmmmm, well I probably shouldn't spend more than around £60, which is probably unrealistic, but it definitely needs to be under £100.

Thanks spotty, I'll check that out.

This one is £45 - any good, or really wide of the mark?

Thanks for all that lady Will get measured for the steel boned corset, if I decide to go down that route. Had a look online at a few and I liked a lot of what I saw.

Ta for the link sca

Here's another go at the second link.

But in case it doesn't work, it's a black leopard Devoire swing dress with built in tulle skirt trim, which is the black swing dress on the second row of the "dresses" tab. You might have noticed it already.

Ok, found it. Yeah I like the top bit, but I'm not sure about swing dresses. They look a little too froo froo. You're not way off though.

Oh and another question, are fingerless, fishnet gloves a no no in your late 20's? I know that's not old, but I'm not sure if that look's really young. I think it looks really sexy on other women, but I haven't had the guts to wear them myself yet. I get told a lot that I look like Amy Lee from Evanescence. She's around my age and she looks great in all that kind of stuff, but then she is actually Amy Lee Grin I think deep down, this is my style, but I'm wondering that if I start wearing these kind of clothes now, is it not going to feel a bit strange??.....

Has anyone mentioned hell bunny?

If you like vintage, do you like steam punk?
