Get thee to ASOS

Lovely scarfy bargains

ITCouldBeWorse Thu 29-Aug-13 10:14:13

They look nice. How do they feel?

Ie are they miles nicer than primarni ones?

GobblersKnob Thu 29-Aug-13 10:20:53

A hundred million miles nicer.

The silk and wool ones (reduced from £72) are gorgeous, I have two already, huge, light, incredibly soft and really, really warm.

jimjamspam Thu 29-Aug-13 10:49:58

damn - that's another £25 gone.... thanks for the tip!

dexter73 Thu 29-Aug-13 11:01:18

I love this one.

LadyMilfordHaven Thu 29-Aug-13 11:07:13

pity they dont include sizes i cant do small

GobblersKnob Thu 29-Aug-13 11:14:54

They are huge LadyMH, I have several.

Kezztrel Thu 29-Aug-13 11:40:18

I'm tempted by this one. Do you think it would be really sparkly though?

Kezztrel Thu 29-Aug-13 11:41:10

The silk and wool ones are gorgeous, the cotton ones no different from the average cotton scarf IME.

bunnymother Thu 29-Aug-13 13:03:49

Is there anywhere that sells a wider range of the silk / wool ones? None of those listed at ASOS are going to be great for me. The starry one looks gorgeous but I look so haggard w black next to my face, I wish they did a deep navy version.

bunnymother Thu 29-Aug-13 13:05:41

And has anyone seen any other beautiful printed silk/ wool scarves? I'm a bit done with modal and viscose (floppy within no time) and I'm not doing polyester. Is it just me or is there a real gap in the market for these?

carrie74 Thu 29-Aug-13 13:26:40

Bunny I've seen them on Atterley Road, The Dressing Room, Plumo, Red Direct and I'm sure other places.

As for others, I got a beautiful one from Cos last year, so I'd say keep an eye out for slightly higher end High Street and indy stores.

Counting Flowers sells lovely silk and wool scarves.

Thanks GobblersKnob! I like the scarves but can't justify full price. Just ordered the black and burgundy one.

CeeceeBloomingdale Thu 29-Aug-13 13:57:04

I spotted this this morning as I was rushing out of the door and snapped up to teal silk/wool version. Its my birthday soon so will probably be reimbursed by the next person who asks what I would like!

Marylou2 Thu 29-Aug-13 15:27:15

Thanks GobblersKnob! What a bargain!

primallass Thu 29-Aug-13 15:57:31

Fabulous, got two returns refunded today so this was a no brainer grin Thanks for flagging it up.

JamEyelid Thu 29-Aug-13 16:14:23

Thanks, I washed and dried my last one by accident and it came out as a little rag.

Two new ones on the way smile

bunnymother Thu 29-Aug-13 16:45:51

Thanks for the suggestions, Dexter and Carrie. Will enjoy looking over a glass of wine tonight.

cafecito Thu 29-Aug-13 17:17:32

bunny you've tried Lily&Lionel, right? I have also spied some delicious ones in Matches blush [scarf addict]

cafecito Thu 29-Aug-13 17:18:07

I also like the scarves in Massimo Dutti , very wafty and light and soft

bunnymother Thu 29-Aug-13 17:50:15

Yes, cafecito, I have a Lily & Lionel modal scarf. The print is divine, but it goes floppy. I have starched it, but it doesn't stay full all day. But I will look at their new season scarves to see if there is wool/silk.

For anyone who likes a vibrant print and is happy w modal /viscose, John Lewis have some gorgeous ones in their own brand for £70.

I look every season at Massimo Dutti, too, but sometimes their scarves are a bit drab for me. I will continue to keep an eye out, including on their men's scarves.

Laska42 Thu 29-Aug-13 18:50:14

oh I really should stop reading this thread..... (black and burgundy wool silk ordered) my 10% off student code from last year was still working though )

LadyMilfordHaven Thu 29-Aug-13 18:50:57

Ta gobo

I got two of the wool ones. Teal and burgundy

cafecito Thu 29-Aug-13 18:56:04

yes they can be drab - I had my favouritest scarf ever from Massimo dutti, was navy and massive with stars but was stolen last year <sad> the lily and lionel ones are all different fabrics I had silk blend ones which were light and gorgeous but wool and modal ones which were a bit average

ah, scarf addict..
