Hey Liberty! You'll be pleased to hear I'm starting an internal debate about selling my black Mulberry. But........ It could take years!

I am although yet again I've been at the white wine Grin.

I've started yet another pin board to try and entice myself out of navy/black/grey. So this boards purely for my best colours of greens/blues/purples with a bit of pink/red thrown in.

Hey shop any black accessories should be thrown my way Grin.

Seriously though, I was thinking about the whole black thing for you earlier and ultimately it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks but how you feel in black. I can wear it although it's not one of my best so put me in it during the day I need something bright to contrast. However put me in it for evening wear with a bit of makeup and I feel sophistication personified. If you think it looks ok the that confidence will shine through Smile

I love your boards queenc!

This summer I have really tried to put more colour in my wardrobe and I would like to do the same for winter, but so far what I've seen in the shops is the usual greys, blacks, winter whites etc.

I would really like to see some lovely jewel colours but so far no luck. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places?

Red and pink
Cobalt blue and green
Red and purple

Any other colours for cobalt blue?

J'adore ton accent Francais Sec
I think you're fit QueenC I may keep some evening bits and get rid of the rest. The thing is, I always used to think it was good on me. Now I've had my colours done I'm not so sure. But all this styles I like - are predominantly black - think leather trousers or pencil skirt, chunky knit etc......
Feel better Liberty. DH and I were just discussing how I never experienced PMT until post DS. Now I turn into bitch troll from hell. DH says he'll thanks DS for that on his wedding day Grin

PMT really sucks liberty, hope you feel better soon. I've got it myself right now, my stomach is so bloated and tender and I feel like just growling at everyone and hiding in a cupboard. Mine is totally out of whack atm, some months I get nothing and then others I'm unbearable

No physical symptoms at all - just feel miserable. Oh well.....

Got this skirt today based on recommendation from Remus on another thread. Haven't tried on yet.

Now - I will be in central London tomorrow...changed previous plans to meet a friend who is over from Ireland. Can someone pm me the location of the MU so I can work out if I can swing by for half an hour? Smile

Grin Shop Sec is fantastic........could name change to DameSecSauternes sounds great and have always wanted a title that's a story for MU Wink

I'm scared of colour analysis, used to drive me mad when customers came Into my shop with their little swatch cards and leave immediately if there wasn't anything in exactly their colour. It's too restrictive for me (although I think they are right)...I know what suits me, and would be interested to see if I'm right, but occasionally I want to wear a crazy non me colour ( pink, red) .
I'm sure if you have been told you can't wear black it really means black near your face doesn't it? Although I have to say I think an outfit using brown/beige tones as a base is so classy and chic and not so harsh as black.

Hello all,

New lurker just checking in to thank you for a bit of inspiration!

I was a frump at 21(wearing stuff too old fashioned for my own mother) and very heavy. Ten years later, and four stone lighter, I found this board whilst looking for a bit of style input on t'internet.

I've been reading these threads for a while now and I've recently bought a couple of things influenced by the idea of quality first. Both at dress agency as no money but...

I bought a beautiful tan leather tote (never used before I got it) because I thought it would go with everything. And a lovely quality thick jersey pencil skirt in grey. Which turned out to be 100% wool and beautifully cut. Inspired by both Remus and Amber with her beautiful skirts.

I will always have 'questionable' and adventurous taste as I love bright colours and a bit of clashing. Though I do tell myself that it works if the clothes are good quality. Well, I try. But I'm grateful for the non-frumpy links to peruse and the many terrific ideas. Thanks stylish people!

Hello MaryTheOwl stick around - if you've lurked for a long time you'll know we're a friendly bunch. I love the sound of your purchases, and of clashing colours. What type of combinations? We're always looking for inspiration :)

Had a lovely day with dh in the sunshine, had decaf espresso as have been waking lots. Dh was Hmm at the point of decaf double espresso, he has a point but have to get something and it still tasted very good.

On colours, I think I'd be upset if some were off limits am sure I get it wrong sometimes.

Foxy

How awful. Get some Ibu into you and a soak in a hot bath-all the usual. The most important anti imflammatory pill to get into you is the last dose before bed. That way you won't be as stiff in the morning. Flowers to you.

I've started a check/tartan/plaid board if anyone wants to critique it here. Queen I like your new board.

I was wondering if there is anybody like me who would like some suggestions as to Christmas gifts later on in the year for friends/family. Maybe we could have a MNVogue Pinboard where we could pin suggestions for each other both what to look for and where to find it. I would like to get out of my gift comfort zone this year and would especially welcome stocking filler suggestions. If the pin was addressed to the person requesting it, then thart would work wouldn't it? Say, 'stripey sheets for Mig's DD' or 'stocking filler under £8'?

Et Bonsoir Secy Buenas tardes a todas ustedes, las mujeres hermosas. Se está haciendo tarde y mis pobres ojos están cansados pero no puedo mantener alejado de la Internet!

Shop What black Mulberry is it you are selling? I wear black and haven't really thought about whether it suits me or not. Maybe a different colour near your face might mitigate against it 'draining' your complexion if that is what you feel happens. I kind of wear whatever colour I like and haven't had my colours done bar a Prescriptives counter assistant twenty years ago telling me I had pale skin. Er yes stating the blooming obvious seeing as I often get people asking me if I feel okay because I am so pale!

Bit reluctant to have colours done because I know I will carry on wearing whatever takes my fancy and it would seem like I have shelled out a lot on advice I would then disregard. I am benefiting from Queens lovely Colour combination board though and have worn quite a few outfits lately that have been inspired by her board. It is like having new clothes and I have been ferreting through my suitcases/packed away clothes to find stuff that would work in new ways. My DD texted earlier asking if i have any 'unwanted' plaid/tartan pants or skirts she could 'borrow. Grin....We are the same height and size except she has smaller feet (so keeps her hands off my Manolos and Loubs) and I have had quite a few of her items she has got bored of and vice versa. Ladies w/ younger daughters- this pleasure awaits you and it is lovely, like having extra closets.
