can anyone recommend a good moisturiser?

I've used to use Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream but now its a little out of my price range . Was given a tub of Origins Ginzing but I'm not particularly liking it. Find it sits on my skin. I use Argan Oil at night and that's amazing, I really notice the difference when I don't use it but it's too heavy for day.

I'm 36 and my skin is oily and prone to spots, especially stress related, dullness and occasional dry patches. I've recently quit smoking and don't really have any lines yet but want to avoid them!

Any recommendations?

Have you tried hot cloth cleansing at all? Sali Hughes, who writes for the Guardian, turned me on to it and it has really helped balance out my combination skin and get rid of dullness and dry patches.

I love Clinique Moisture Surge as it has a gel texture so not too heavy. No 7 ones are also good; Boots often do £5 off vouchers so they come in under a tenner.

I love No7 Beautiful Skin one, the one for dry/very dry skin. I dislike No7 as a brand but that stuff is the bees knees, light but nourishing and creamy, and also smells lovely.

I just bought a 30ml tube of Clarins Multi-active off EBay for £8 here. It was brand new with the seal intact so quite a bargain.

I also rate Olay Regenerist 3 point- you can usually get on amazon for half price.

I'm tempted by giving the Liz Earle a try, especially as they have an offer of a free tube of Skin Tint (offer a freebie and I'll buy nearly anything ). How long does the essentials pack normally last?

I might give the Aldi a try first though as I do have other cleansers to use and am trying not to spend on a whim. Just want to stop looking and feeling so crap. Any particular Aldi Moisturiser you've tried and liked.

My skincare has got all out of whack as has my diet. The last 2 years have been horrendously stressful and it shows. I need to get myself back into a routine and am planning a total makeover. Making sure I eat well and get plenty of water and exercise as I know that'll have a massive affect on how I look and feel. Just want to get my skincare routine hammered out for additional help.

I got the lacura hydro-something. My skin is generally awful - dry and flaky - but actually it has got a lot better since using it. I use the serum and the moisturiser.

I know it's a while off but Debenhams sells multi active gift sets (full size) after Christmas really cheaply!
Worth remembering and stocking up if you love the stuff.

I have recently switched to Vital C from the image skincare range. It's not cheap but a little goes a very long way and it smells heavenly (citrus). I also rate the garnier one in the red pot (can't remember the name of the range)

I like Clarins too, but have also been trying to find a cheaper alternative.... Bought some Oil of Olay with SPF 15 the other day and it's..... Absolutely fine! Was about £2.50 in tesco so I'm being liberal with it and using it on my neck too, pretty pleased with myself!
