So, with the hot weather, what have you worn and worn?

My best purchase has definitely been the J Crew chino shorts. They are the most flattering shorts I've ever tried.

I'd still like to find the elusive cotton dress that works for walking round town in as well as being in the garden. But being an apple shape seems to make this an impossibility.

My swing dresses, lovely and floaty so nice and cool. I also haven't worn any other footwear but Birkenstocks since the first day of sun, my feet will rebel when I have to wear shoes again.

J Crew chino shorts here too, was more of a mini skirt gal before these but they're fab!

What length have you got MrsCB? I've got the 4" but wish I'd have gone for the 3" instead.

I got the 4" too but yes, the 3 would have been better for sunbathing. Although the 4" are good for wearing to the park etc.

Where did you get swing dresses from thepinup?

Gap boyfriend shorts are serving me well, as is my Boden pocket Breton.

I've rotated: a black cowl neck sleeveless short sundress - Gap

Black cotton lace/crochet shorts - M&S

Pink/green/black/white patterned shorts - last year Great Plains

With loose ish cotton vests.

At home I've constantly worn a grey cotton halter neck playsuit - H and M. Best £7 I have EVER spent.

I've been hunting for a cotton dress too. No luck so far.

Last year's patterned

I got these sandals in black. They are so comfortable and tick the right boxes for me as being nice enough to wear with a dress, not frumpy, yet comfortable.

I have a linen dress from M&S that I bought two years ago that I wear all the time when it's hot, it's pull on loose cut with flared out skirt, sleeveless and so cool.

Denim shorts created from an old pair of boyfriend jeans. Very flattering, comfortable and easy to adjust length depending on where I am going to be.

Loose cotton t-shirts or vests - mostly H&M.

Scandals/flipflops - various, current fav is leopard skin and metallic thong scandals from Amazon.

Sunglasses - Boots

Slim crystal havaianas

Grey marl maxi skirt with split from new look (amazingly long!)

Midi dresses. From New Look (pale pink and black Aztec patterned) and Hush (elbow-length sleeved cobalt)

I was a bit late on the bandwagon with them but they're remarkably flattering on my pear shaped figure and easy to wear, feel a bit more casual than a maxi I think and nice and cool. Simple sandals or flipflops, jewellery, sunglasses, job done.

A couple of Mantaray cotton tunic tops which are just long enough to wear as a mini dress.

I have been wearing them over wide pants for work and then I whip my bra & pants (not knickers) off when I get home to cool down in the evening.

White maternity cropped trousers and a lovely purple floaty dress that I could wear strappy, halter or strapless teamed with white flat sandals. Or at least until this week when the bump decided I don't need clothing that fits anymore Hmm so the past few days black leggings and a checked maternity shirt :(

I start this thread and now the rain starts.

I've just not worn maxis at all this year apart from the navy stripey skirt from DP. Its all been about the shorts. But do find it quite hard dressing for this weather if I need to be out and about.

Love the sound of leopard print playsuit!

Superman - have you got much longer to go?

I'm very much a dress person so mostly cotton summer dresses. One i have worn again and again is a mid blue knee length linen dress purchased a couple of years ago from boden. It has a v neck and short sleeves. It's really comfortable and cool. It's starting to get a bit faded now though. I'll be sad to stop wearing it.

I usually pair it with either snakeskin sandals or silver flip flops.
