Could someone tell me dd's bra size please?

I've scanned the threads in the past but won't have time to re-read them today but I'd like to go and buy dd some more bras. Her measurements were 26" under and 30" over. While I was measuring her I checked myself and I measure 30.5" under and 34 over - 35 when leaning over. My boobs are quite "empty" on top if that makes sense.

Thanks very much for any help

Did she lean over before you took the measurements around!

Yes, hers were the same standing straight and leaning over

Dd will be 26D which I thonk you will struggle to find. You may need a proper guru to come on and explain how to adjust a 28 band.

You will be 30DD.

Use both as a starting point. Don't forget to scoop

I am very shocked by that, dd is only 13 her boobs are tiny, how can she be a D? Also my boobs are nat bites, I've always worn an A cup before, I don't think I could possibly fill a DD...?

Your dd is around a 26D, you are very unlikely to find this in shops anywhere, you could try a 28C but again you would probably be looking online, as bras fit differently, they need to be tried on.

You are somewhere around a 30D/DD 32C/D again, you need to try on for fit.

x-post, slow typist Grin

It's because cup size is relative, we are conditioned to think a D/DD cup is HUGE, but it's really not unless it comes with a big back size.

I am a 30G, my boobs are not small, but they are by no means massive.

A 26G would be much much smaller, by contrast a 48C would be rather large.

John Lewis do some small back bras- look online. But unlikely you would find a 26 anywhere- 28 maybe just.

If you go up a backsize then you come down a cup size- so she might fit into a 28C cup.

There was a 28 bra recommended recently that was an extremely tight fit - someone said they could just fasten it around their own 26 inch torso. I'll try and find the post.

It was me, an eBay find, £6! I'll dig out the link.

If she is really tiny does she need a bra anyway- would a crop top vest or bra-like crop top not be enough until she grows a bit more?

With a D cup even on a 26 rib, she still needs support. Growing breast tissue is very delicate and needs proper support, which is why a badly fitting underwire is a no-no, but a properly fitting one the best solution.

28 bra comes up small
I have a 26 back and it's on the loosest hook. Goes up to G (which is what I have)

M&S now do a 28 back and they're really quite tight so I know people who measure 26" have got on well with those.

A d cup on a 26 band is small, relatively. Cup size isn't absolute - not all D cups are the same.

Have a look at this picture which shows the difference in cup size as back size increases. There are many many women on the bra threads who have worn A cups and turned out to be DD ish.

30D

Now unfortunately 26s aren't really made unless custom, which probably isn't worthwhile for a teen who will grow quickly. Unfortunately 28C is also as rare as rocking horse poo, but M&S do a few and there are reports that they are running small this season. Mimi Holiday/damaris also do some 28Cs which would have roughly the same cup volume as the 26D she really needs. If you need to adjust, you can either get a rixie clip (ebay) or simply remove the section with the clips, take a small amount of fabric out of the band and then reattach
