If you are having a photographer then please look up on makeup for photography. (Unless there is anyone on here!?) my makeup artist told me that you need to do the eyes/blusher etc slightly more dramatic/defined than you would normally do as the camera can make you look pale and washed out smile

probably too late but i got married in abroad and had a lesson with a lovely make up artist so i could do my own makeup while there. i had a massive splurge at space nk on chantecaille and laura mercier tinted moisturiser, bobbi brown eyeshadows & blusher. no7 loose powder. now prefer hollywood liquid blush (truly amazing) and nars finishing powder. and YSL foundation (or just touch eclat). Loved the chantecaille & laura mercier stuff though. expensive... liz earle TM is really good too, i need about 6 shades for different imes of year.
keep reading about armani foundation , planning to try it whn YSL runs out

Pressured* not treasured!!

I went to an Estee Lauder counter for my wedding make up. The products were lovely, so was the consultant, but I did feel slightly treasured into spending £££ on foundation etc which I don't usually wear. So I had to learn how to wear it which is fine, but something to think about if you're not used to wearing so much/such heavy make up.

Don't go near YSL touché éclat as it reflects light and your photos will look terrible.

I was a bridesmaid at the weekend and I wore mostly Benefit - I really like their products. I did pinch some of the brides eyehsadow which was a MAC one and was very sparkly

I wore Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and concealer for my wedding, with MAC primer, MAC eyeshadow and lip gloss. The MAC counter gave me the paper with the instructions in it re how they'd applied everything, which made it easier. MAC are also good re recommendations on photo ready makeup - some primers for example have light reflecting particles in them that look v odd in photos.

Also get yourself some good spot cream in case one appears at the last minute, eg kiehl's drawing paste or Payot pâté grise.

Do you normally wear make up? If not, I'd just go for a tinted moisturiser, translucent powder, blush, mascara and a slick of Vaseline on lips. I prefer a natural look and didn't wear much more than that for my own wedding day! I swear by Khiels night time face oil, in the space of a week it made a huge difference to my 40 year old skin.

Bobbi Brown if you are pale.

Alternatively, I've heard good things about Benefit.

Have a look at chantecaille foundation

I also wore LM foundation and I'm a big fan of MAC smile

I wore Laura mercier Silk Creme foundation on my wedding day with Laura mercier secret concealer and MAC care blend powder on top,
I wore MAC well dressed blusher
mac shale eyeshadow with sketch in the socket and shroom as a highlight
Lipstick was bobbi brown bikini pink lipstick

I'm off out tomorrow on a mission to find the perfect makeup for a wedding

I want my make to last all day but I don't want to look caked, just glowing

I need
Foundation
Concealer
Powder
Blusher (cream or powder)
Mascara
Eye liner
And a lip product

Help please, any recommendations or suggestions of shops to try

I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money either

I'm 40 with combination skin, under eye bags and a sallow complexion

Thank you ladies :-)
