Ashamed to say I only have 2. Now my husband will say that is plenty ...

FaddyPeony Mon 01-Jul-13 14:57:30

3-4 probably?

rempy Mon 01-Jul-13 14:55:30

I used to take 3 bikinis.

I now take a tankini, a bikini that I only wear under a rash vest, and a floaty kaftan type thing to make sure other people on the beach aren't blinded by my vast white thighs..........(and because I am really sun exposure obsessed, and am trying to set a good example).

How times change.

Depends on whether you will be atthe beach every day, my friend took one for each day.

2 or 3.
But only wear 2.

Still18atheart Mon 01-Jul-13 14:50:52

2 bikinis
1 tankini
1 one piece

Minimum 2.

Maximum - as many as I had.

Gosh, I am shocked by some of the responses!!!

I have only ever had 2 at a time... And I speak as someone who grew up in a hot country.

To each their own.. I just think when else can you buy a whole outfit for £25... grin

Why is only having 2 something to be ashamed of? confused

Can't see any reason anyone would need more than 2, but if you want more, go for it.

I have 2 swimming costumes and 1 bikini and won't be buying any more for our holiday. Apart from anything else we are going to Cornwall and judging by the recent weather, I won't need any of 'em... hmm

When we go to Center Parcs and are swimming every day, I bring 2 costumes, and that's plenty.

I'm going to S.E Asia for 3 weeks in Dec/Jan. I was going to take 3 bikinis, may have to use this thread to justfy buying more rethink.

Yes Eliot I do have small(ish) tits grin

Loving this.

I don't own a bikini (not got the figure) so I wear a one piece. They are cup sized (huge boobs and weird size) and cost about £30-£40 so I generally own max of two.

I just love the fact that there are people out there who a) own 14 bikinis and b) take them all on a holiday grin

Well, every day's a school day!

I am taking 6 I think. 3 older ones from last year and 3 new ones from this year.

I bought mine in Sainsburys and Asda at about £12 each. Had a peek at a lovely looking M&S one yesterday in the sale reduced to £18 for the top (at that point I didnt bother looking at the bottoms). The top looked beautiful from the front but the clasp at the back looked cheaper and naffer than the Primarni bikini my DD bought herself for £5 last weekend.

I have always wondered why some bikinis are so expensive and some so cheap. My best friend is rather well endowed in the boob department so buys hers from dearer stockists and I can see what she is getting for her extra £££ but some of those M&S £30 in the sale bikinis - pretty that they were didnt look any nicer or seemed to offer anything more than my Sainsburys ones. Have to say I own 5 Sainsburys bikinis bought over the past few years and think they are fab for the money - seem a bit better and a bit sturdier than other cheap ones. I need a few bits lifted etc and they do the rick fab, as they seem well cut.

Lol. These are small tit ladies.

When a bikini costs you $50 you don't take 14 plus it's weird.

ENormaSnob Sun 30-Jun-13 22:46:58

14. At least tbh.

HappyGirlNow Sun 30-Jun-13 22:22:28

14 blush

EliotNess Sun 30-Jun-13 22:14:59

Meh. Who cares about strap marks really

ygritte Sun 30-Jun-13 19:57:44

I would take about 5.
I wouldn't want to be washing my knickers every other day and so don't want to do the same with my bikinis, although there is always a favourite. However...it has taken me ages to amass 5 bikinis that look ok, and the thing about varying the strapmarks is another thing I keep in mind.

EliotNess Sun 30-Jun-13 18:09:16

do you not have washing facilities?

FortyFacedFuckers Sun 30-Jun-13 18:06:49

I usually take 4

TippiShagpile Sun 30-Jun-13 18:02:06

If I'm going to be living in them for the whole holiday, then 3 or 4.

OverAndAbove Sun 30-Jun-13 18:01:04

I'll be taking 4 or 5. I spend most of the day in them so like a change. Also I like to soak them properly after a day's wear so two could be in the sink at any one time. They take up very little space so DH will hardly notice.

I was just thinking about DD's swimwear earlier and thinking she'll need 4 for the same reason

RedPencils Sun 30-Jun-13 15:26:02

I have to buy ones with full scaffolding so only own 2. Wear one, wash one is more than adequate.

Two bikinis one swimsuit and one tankini. Am packing as I type smile
